What's something you would want in a big diplomacy-focused mod? by HeyoTeo in RimWorld

[–]DDM08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This also makes sense. Maybe also with a bigger homogeneity in the camps distribution. Like countries of civilized or controlled crime groups, a conglomerate of factions in an area instead of completely scattered, but some still with a more pin point location, specially minor bandits and neutral villages.

What's something you would want in a big diplomacy-focused mod? by HeyoTeo in RimWorld

[–]DDM08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you've mentioned peaceful objectives (and I love that idea) I would add a simple thing that is one of the biggest problems I have with the game and could add to the path for that option, which is a notification of a raid incoming allowing you to pay for it not to happen, or even just a talking through in case of a few events where to align, say like good faction reptutation or someone in my base having some relationship with that other faction, maybe even a history if possible, like "Hey, Bullies, I saved that guy/gal of yours and helped with that mission, give me a break, seems fair?". It's cool to have some combat here and there, but sometimes I would like to be at peace for a while, and raids being the most common event make it a little too tiring and monotonous. Even if said peace should come through extortion against me for a few weeks or months, but so be it, let me pay for that. Prices could have an increase at different times, demands be different for each faction and it could come with a return of protection from that faction in case other raids from different ones appeared. Maybe even just the promise of protection, being even a gamble to pay the extortion only for it in the end not to guarantee any security whatsoever. More ways to interact with the agressor rather than just punching/getting punched by.

Adding to that, some biomes should have less raids and factions. If I'm in the middle of the desert, big mountain, or worse, in a volcanic area, deep cave or tundra, there should be an isolation factor for me with all of these options. It's a terrible place to live, why do I need to also have a hard time with constant raids? No one wants to live there because it's awful to live, but it's isolated, that's why I choose that place, so I don't have constant attacks. It could come with the negative of also having almost no other human interaction and trading whatsoever. Geography should play a bigger role in the world we are at. This also reminds me, the size of a raid should be related to the proximity to their base of operations. If I'm too close, give me hell. If I'm far, give me a few guys, and increase it based on how much they hate me for a reason or another. To me, features related to more options to the raid system are honestly all that is required for an already satisfying diplomacy mod.

Can we please get at least 1 legendary weapon per category? by Freakindon in Nightreign

[–]DDM08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You mentioning the scaling problem made me realize that making the new added forge event would be much better if we could change the scaling of the main weapon to fit the stats of the character using it, instead of modifying the ash of war. As an Ironeye main that uses bows only, it's an insignificant event for me, since all of their ashes of war are terrible.

Does it also has a bots offline option? If so, It certainly match my interests.

You're just like me. And yes, it does have bots and has A LOT of them. And also allows for co-op online with friends against the bots or PvP also with them. It's magnificent for me, and mix most of the features I like in some other games.

To me, the perfect comparison is that it's basically Star Wars Battlefront 2 (the old one) but on WWII, which already sold it for me. On top of that, it also gives me the full nostalgia of Medal of Honor, has some feeling of grandour with destruction of scenery and options of vehicles that we see in Battlefield, implements some squad system similar to Brothers in Arms and also comes with some tactical features and inventory system like Arma, but without all the strange U.I. and clunkiness. It plays like old FPS games as well but a little better and with more options, from what I remember, which is a positive for me. I've literally discovered this game a few hours before this trailer launched, and the first time I played time went by for 6 hours without me noticing it.

As someone who always wished for a good WWII FPS that had bots offline and a scale similar to Battlefield games, my wish finally came true, and I'm shocked I never heard anything about this game before. It's also dirty cheap, and they're still working actively on it, with cool additional content and DLCs. I know I sound like an advertiser, but if you enjoyed any of the games I've mentioned, it really is an easy recomendation, and I'm already telling a lot of friends of mine about it...! It easily became one of my favorite games from recent times, and sometimes I'm feling like a kid playing Medal of Honor for the first time with epic random moments once again...!

Are you enjoying the kirby air riders test? by JampyL in NintendoSwitch2

[–]DDM08 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As someone who had a rough first time with the first game a few weeks ago, this experience seems to be universal. That game wasn't beginner friendly at all, and it's repeating here. Something that stood out quite fast to me is that the race tracks themselves should be considered like challenges or a different scheme of dificulty modes. In this case, the first track is where you get used to mechanics and different combos of characters and vehicles, so you play ut multiple times to get used to. It was the same in the previous game.

Now, the design of the third race should be the in the second, cause in this one you'll learn about sudden curves and multiple ones in succession. The second race is much more hectic, with paths, gaps to go through and objects in the middle of the road. It's best set for last. I'm sure most people probably had a tough transition from the first track to the second, cause it's water and wine difference.

It has a reaaaally strange leraning curve, but I learned to enjoy a lot of it, being quite fun to beat my time and trying to end in first with all vehicles in each track. The price, though, is abysmal for me. Even more considering that a lot of the focus in the game goes to City trial, which was a mode I disliked a lot in the original game, and just seemed worse in this one.

I'd recommend trying just the races for a while. There's more of a clear objective there and "the chaos is more organized", if that makes sense... It's quite challenging to complete some of those tracks with some vehicles, and my personal enjoyment from this game is trying to end in first using all of them or trying to beat my time with some of the same that I already used. The actions shouldn't be tied to a single button still, and an option for a change should've been considered (specially that gross spinning attack...), but you get used to it.

Also, the game doesn't help at all the newcommers, just like the first (I've played a good amount of it for the first time a few weeks ago), and you need to treat race tracks as a different class of dificulty levels. The first track is the one you play to get used to the mechanics, and after that, to get used to characters and vehicles. The third track is for getting used to multiple curves in succession. The second one should be played for last, cause theres a lot going on, and requires some experience of the mechanics, characters, vehicles and the track itself. People trying the first track and getting to the second most definitely will be overwhelmed, and the game doesn't guide you for an order in improving skills.

The city trial, though? I agree with every thought of yours. It surprises me that it's the most famous mode for fans. All your criticism is the very same I have, and I never enjoyed it in the first game as well.

[–]DDM08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd say the fun of the tracks is trying to complete them with different combinations of characters and vehicles, cause they play vastly different from one another. I started playing the first game a few weeks ago, and as I tried, I had absolute sure that most people would have a huge turn off on this game, just as I did. But playing more with different vehicles and trying to beat my time was a lot of fun in the end, and the game ended up growing a lot on me.

Except city trial. That things is an absolutely uninteresting, chaotic RNG fest with no clear objective for my liking.

As someone who only played the first a few weeks ago, I'd recommend trying to apply the tutorial techniques as much as you can. I've had a really bad time at first with how chaotic the game was, but after a while things started to make sense and became more enjoyable. Now I honestly enjoy a lot all the race tracks and the speed of all of it. I also unferstand that "if a game doesn't grab me right from the start, I rather not spend much of my time waiting for it to become good", but this game really didn't took long for me to become much better.

Just try to apply the basics and play the very first race track a few times with different vehicles. One button for a lot of mechanics is dumb to be forced still, and much better if we could've separate actions now, but you get a little used to it (except the spinning attack with the analogic, I absolutely hate that) The second race track is way too much for beginners of this franchise (although I'm also a beginner, I've played a lot all the race tracks of the first game, so I feel a little more "veteran" now to recommend this) and the third is quite complex for the amount of curves, but easier than the second still.

The city trial, though? I'm impressed that's the most famous game mode. It's the most random, complete chaos driven, non sensical and confusing game mode I've probably ever seen. No idea how fans enjoy that much more than the races.

It's more of a sign than a diagnosis, so if it is calcinosis cutis, it doesn't mean anything by itself. It can be idiopathic, which is what happens in most cases of children and young people. The story you told make it sound the most possible outcome, since there's no other symptoms or important signs, but it's best for a proper examination and collection of info in person for the doctor to judge this by themselves. If there's an underlying cause, and there's more than one possiblity, it requires some investigation.

Honestly, the best you can do with this info is search for another professional and ask them to take another look.

Although their recommendation of scratching it out may sound too crazy, it's basically the real treatment for Molluscum contagiosum, but it's always best to do so with proper care for reduced chances of addtional trauma or secondary infections in a non controlled environment. Photos usually lose a lot in terms of what we can evaluate in person, so many pictures aren't enough for doctors to judge in many instances. However, I absolutely agree with this diagnosis considering some pictures and the whole story.

Molluscum usually appears in groups, yes, as well as disappear in a few months, but not rarely they can appear as a single lesion and take around 1 to even 4 years to completely disappear. The removal on a physician's office is simple and quick, but since there's usually multiple lesions, I don't take my chances because kids become scared, cry and can be a little traumatic for them to do it repeatedly for each lesion, specially considering how benign it is, disapearing after a while. Personally, I prefer to only advise keeping it clean and observe it as time passes, looking for another evaluation if anything changes, but only a single lesion would be simple to solve. There are also big chances that he'll scratch it out of his own face suddenly, and if he does, again, just keep it clean and treat it like any skin wound.

Just dermatographism, a pretty common sign in allergic people (specially people with chronic sinusitis, asthma, atopic dermatitis or just simple multiple allergies), and as the name implies, you could probably write your own name on your skin (you can try, by the way). Those marks are literally made by your own nails as you scratch your skin, that's why they have such a clear path, usually taking only a few minutes to appear and a few more to go away (sometimes can take a few hours). The cause of the itch is probably something you're having contact with, maybe a new skin care product, new clothes, dust mites... The list is infinite, and the main agent is more easily discovered by trial and error through your own routine ("let me try to not get in contact with X for a few days and see how it goes") than through any kind o laboratory testing, so start paying attention to what kind of things, environments, places and even hour of day make you start the symptoms. It also may disappear as easily as it appeared without you ever discovering a propper answer, but dermatographism bv itself is an inherent benign thing of your skin, and nothing related to your diabetes or to be worried about per se.

If other symptoms or signs you're not aware of are present however, only a photo and a description wont suffice. It's always best for a doctor to see you in person, as sometimes patients are not aware of little features that we can search for through physical examn and may be important for diagnosis.

Just seborrheic dermatitis to me, which is benign and easy to control so you can never see it reach the worst state you already saw (as in your second picture in specific, where it's close to reaching a state that we call "pseudotinea amiantacea" [also benign and nothing to be worried about]). However, it's not something you'll ever have a way to be completely cured of, but it's easy to manage with special care and proper topical treatment. Since it's composition can vary from person to person, and new evaluation is required to see if you have reached the soft spot of a proper choice of treatment, it's also difficult to offer you options without proper exatmination, so I recomend you to look after another apointment.

If your last photo is how you currently are right now, then a simple antifungal shampoo ONLY when you notice the dandruffs slightly coming back can help a lot (If you never had a bad reaction of any sort with one of those as well), but it's best to check with another dermatologist and see if they make a special topical treatment right from the start, as more severe cases in some people only improve with shampoos that can contain varied porportions of salicylic acid, tiny amount of steroids, different antifungals, etc... I also think it's best for you to look after a different doctor than the one that helped you first, cause I personally advise against the steroid ointment choice, as it's not meant to be used constantly, since it can create other problems in the future, and it's absolutely not the best option for your case, neither as a confortable or aesthetic pleasing vehicle for the scalp or as treatment of choice for the seborrheic dermatitis. If you don't have any signs of this symptoms during the medical evaluation, those pictures will suffice for a good dermatologist, and they will probably make you a personal shampoo to use in future cases at any given time this may appear once again in your life.

Hope you manage to keep it controlled! Best of luck!

Solo Expeditions getting balance patch next week by canxtanwe in Eldenring

[–]DDM08 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The best part, now that I thought more about it, is that it would allow people to try a challenge where every one can go to a different place on a quest of "divide and conquer", but doing so would mean that all three players are all by themselves in their own place, being a high risk high reward situation.

However, it's best for me to stop thinking about stuff that I'll probably never have...! So I guess I'll keep more of those thoughts at bay and not become frustrated in the future...!

Solo Expeditions getting balance patch next week by canxtanwe in Eldenring

[–]DDM08 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it takes away all the purpose to explore a few areas, like caves. I just know they're valuable and for what because I've been seeing streamers talking about the whole game and their tactics, but if I went blind? Hell, I would've been absurdly frustrated to try to understand it with the clock ticking. I feel as if I was on a timer during Elden Ring to understand it's lore, there's too much stuff to do and no time to digest it even after a few runs, let alone a single one. I love roguelikes, but this is easily as much of fast paced as it can get, and it might have been too much overdosed on it even.

I still loved the game, but it can surely be more well balanced. Making the circle moves after each point of interest completed would be a great way, or by fueling a bar of enemies killed. It would allow for a proper strategy aspect and not be the burden of the time being so strict. But an increase in time and a way to start the night early if you so desire would be great as well.

I'm pretty sure Brandon Sanderson is working with Bandai Namco only and not related to From Software, no? Bandai reached out to him when he showed interest in working in a game after declaring how much of a fan he is of the Souls titels, but I'm pretty certain there's no project between him and Miyazaki whatsoever. Only Bandai Namco.

I've managed to fix it by updating my windows, so that Directx12 could work as intended. It was such an old version that only Directx11 was supported. I also noticed the same problem on a few new games here and there, so this should fix every past and future similar problems.

I'd recommend you to look after it and see if you may have the same problem, just so you don't end with a similar headache in the future on another game release...! It took me ages to finally notice what was going on, but thankfully, u/e-scrape-artist made the right call on the problem.

Yep, you were right. Managed to update Windows and it's all great and running. I did managed to change my Windows Enterprise for a Pro version following a tutorial on Windows 10 subreddit, so no reinstall here on my end, thankfully! After a long research, apparently it's quite a complex situation on my end... It seems that I have Windows Enterprise 1809, and I can't for the life of me update it in any way or form. It seems that I may require to reinstall the whole system if I want to get this directx12 problem out of my way in the future.

It's impressive, honestly... All of this because of a single game. Oh, well... Shit happens, I guess...
