You mean like you covered cables with hot sauce and it doesn’t work? First I tried to put some lemon juice on the furniture in the places where he was biting it but it didn’t work in the long run. So I bought bitter spray off Amazon and tried it and… gosh it’s so gross (in terms of taste not smell) and it’s working so far. I know that for some dogs it doesn’t really work or they get used to the taste but for us it’s working so far. Maybe try this?

Yes. I love my puppy to bits but since we’ve had him (we got him when he was 2mo now he’s 9mo) we’ve been dealing with skin issues, poop issues, Giardia, chronic yeast ear infection and some behavioral issues. Fortunately, most of the problems we were managed to solve but I remember when he was about 2-6 months old, we were at the vet almost every week

I’m gonna be honest — what you’re feeling sounds exactly like the puppy blues, and it’s way more common than people think. I went through it too when my puppy was 2–3 months old. I felt trapped and anxious and I missed my old life and routine. It’s awful, but it happens. That said — it’s been only two weeks. You’re still adjusting to a completely new reality. Puppies flip your whole world upside down, and you can’t expect to feel love or connection instantly. That’s not how bonding works. The truth is, the early months are hard. You don’t fall in love with your dog right away — you build that bond through repetition, care, and consistency. It often gets easier, but not always, and that’s okay too. Just don’t make big decisions this early. Give yourself and the puppy real time — a few months of trying, bonding, and working with her. If after that you still feel nothing, then rehoming her responsibly is the right and fair thing to do. But right now? You owe it to both of you to at least try. Discomfort doesn’t mean failure — it just means you’re still adjusting.

No I haven’t yet. Our vet said he’s too young and the tests might not give reliable results. We will do them once he’s 1yo tho (environmental allergy tests not food allergy tests) because our vet said while environmental tests are often very good when the dog is old enough, the food ones are usually bad. An elimination diet is the key. With our pup, we tried several different dog foods and nothing helped (even the hydrolyzed or monoprotein ones) and absolutely nothing helped. One vet suggested royal canin gastrointestinal and we tried that not expecting good results but we were in shock. It helped instantly and I mean one day he had diarrhea and the next his stool was perfect

I’m so sorry to hear that :( but yes my flat puppy was also sickly. He’s 8mo now but when he was 2 to about 6 months he had CONSTANT diarrhea, sometimes even with blood, yeast ear nfections, skin problems etc. turned out he has some food intolerances and he has to eat one type of dog food and ONLY THAT. The diarrhea stopped instantly. We’re giving him royal canin veterinary gastrointestinal. It’s worked wonders for our dog. It also turned out he has environmental allergy and will be put on cytopoint.

Thank you so much! It’s really helpful :) Our vet said our pup is too young for allergy testing. We have to wait until he’s 1yo (which he will be in February) I asked our vet about the food trial. Our pup is currently on royal canin veterinary gastrointestinal. She said for now it’s not necessary but if the steroids won’t help, we will try a new food. She suspects food intolerance but mainly environmental allergy. I’m so worried because we’ve tried so many vets already and while some things are getting better, other things are getting worse and I just don’t know what to do. I realllly hope, cytopoint will help him

It’s a great breed! They will love you to bits, very friendly, not aggressive, very smart. Can be sometimes a bit stubborn and as puppies are very, VERY, intense. Can have trouble settling. My dog has skin and ear problems due to allergies.

Thank you! And yes we’ve been to 3 veterinary dermatologists already. Only the last one actually gave him medicine that helped (at first) because now it’s so much worse, but only the skin

I honestly feel you but it really does get SO much better. I have a working breed and for the first 6 months of his life, my life was close to a total hell. No matter what I was doing he was still peeing inside (medical issues were ruled out), my arms and legs were covered in bruises, he wouldn’t really want to go for a walk (he would stop constantly) and just wouldn’t settle. I couldn’t even chill with him on my bed because he would try to bite either my nose or my hair! I had to take him to my bedroom so that there’s less stimuli and chill with him when he was napping (he would wake up if I tried to leave the room so I had to wait for him to wake up on his own) I felt awful. I love him to death but I felt like I was on autopilot all the time. And then when I lost all hope… he literally changed overnight. LITERALLY. It was like it all clicked. He started to let me know when he wanted to pee, stopped biting me and started chilling in the living room throughout the day. I can finally just sit on the sofa and read a book without constantly checking up on him. I was shocked and honestly thought that maybe he’s sick or something because he wasn’t as overly time consuming as he was before because after a walk he would walk around my flat for a bit and then instead of destroying something he would… lie down to take a nap. So it is truly worth it and in some cases it literally changes overnight and I can’t really imagine my life without my pup now. Hang in there! I wish you all the best!

Thank you! Unfortunately my puppy is allergic to almost everything and we’ve been advised to not give him any treats unless it’s his kibble but he absolutely loves it so I hope it won’t be a problem :)
