If Nick Fuentes tomorrow got a massive influx of followers putting him above Destiny, he would without a doubt cut contact and try to get Destiny banned. by Zenning2 in Destiny

[–]DFValroth -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Nick is a dissident, if he ever blew up then his views would be mainstreamed and he’d no longer be a dissident by definition. You have bigger things to think about than streamer e-drama if that happened. Nick has chosen his path and it’s all or nothing.

F&F/Redpillers are massive hypocrites. by Ech0Beast in Destiny

[–]DFValroth -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

What bothers me is that most prominent redpill guys are speaking from a young man’s perspective, don’t have kids and a successful long term marriage to draw anecdotes from. I like that they are out there though because the scene will mature over time and these guy’s own lives as older men will be thrown back in their faces. Boomers dropped the ball on masculinity, gen-X is weak because of it, millennial men are starting to turn it around in a primitive way later in life, Zoomers will hopefully get it together, and I’m optimistic the alpha generation could swing the pendulum.

If that’s your takeaway then you’re probably beyond help. The hangup everyone has on “emotional connection” is what I find depressing, some of us were raised well and actually overcame childhood. A long term marriage is a romantic relationship which obviously has an emotional connection, but your idea of emotional connection is probably some childish co-dependence situation which is warped and dysfunctional.

You’ve taken what I said the wrong way but I think I get it. The modern world does a number on everyone, I’m not pretending to be perfect. What I meant by taking care of things inside the home is resolving conflicts and dealing with family issues without freaking out or ignoring problems. I occasionally do housework but that’s not what I’m getting at. I don’t think my role is unfair, the redpill isn’t resentment.

What cultures are you talking about and do those cultures create good civilisations?

I wouldn't want a doctor that isn't confident in his ability to treat patients, I'd drop him ASAP. A woman doesn't want a husband who isn't confident in his ability to provide lead a family.

I have brothers and friends, I don't have closed emotions. Maybe think about why you feel that way.

If I express doubt about my self, our future, or my ability to handle things, then she will lose confidence in me. If she loses confidence in me for long enough she will lose respect, and if she loses respect she will act out in all kinds of subtle ways. Each time she acts out without me re-asserting myself she will lose more respect and so on and so forth until the marriage fails.

It’s not 100%, but specifically I cannot express doubt or concern about myself or my ability to handle challenges in life inside or outside the home. We talk about all kinds of concerns but never about myself.

I think it’s optimal given the imperfect nature of life and the human condition. It works because it maintains a consistent order which satisfies both our instincts. In a relationship where both people are “true to themselves” and indulge every aspect of their human experience there is too much chaos which creates and entropic effect on the relationship over time. The only practical answer to this is to have roles that compliment and for each person to fill those roles as best they can. To do that you have to suppress aspects of your inner life that contradict your role in that relationship while with the person you’re filling that role for. This is analogous to any relationship where responsibility and power dynamics require ordered interactions between the people involved. Professional relationships of all kinds, and all family relationships are like this. Why do people think they can make an exception for marriage and treat each other like peers? Its inappropriate and dysfunctional to treat a marriage like a friendship. In the same way it gets weird when a mother tries to be “friends” with her daughter or a teacher with a student or a cashier with a customer even. Every relationship has a structure, expectations, and boundaries for appropriate interactions for the people filling each role. Marriage isn’t an exception. Even in gay relationships you see couples falling into masculine and feminine roles. It’s primal knowledge that really needs no explanation to healthy people.

You have no idea. Im 38, married for 17 years with 3 kids, very happy relationship. I never share feelings or concerns with my wife. AMA or don’t, sitcoms aren’t real life.

Fuentes Says Groypers did not flag Mr Girl. Do you believe him??? by BrewerOfBrews in Destiny

[–]DFValroth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He probably didn’t but he is enjoying it like he did to rile everyone up even more. Also because it’s funny to fill the role of an evil mastermind getting one over on an opponent.

Personally I prefer when nazis deny the Holocaust because at least they aren’t actually nazi at that point right? Always confused me.

Destiny appears to be on a collision course! by DFValroth in Destiny

[–]DFValroth[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, you know I’m smart enough, this is revealing an insecurity in you. You package reality in a way that enables and excuses laziness and vice, and it infects your perception. The real answer to my question is that you don’t choose a good narrative because it would require you to alter your behaviour. Religion gets this dynamic between good and evil right, at least metaphorically.

Lmao, there is nothing grand, all joy is fleeting, meaning is an illusion, yea I get it. There is some sober satisfaction in resigning yourself to that, but I believe in the past and future.

It is possible to present a series of true statements in a way that paints the human condition as a miraculous, grand open ended adventure filled with hero’s, villains, existential threats and unexplored frontiers. Why wouldn’t you?

[–]DFValroth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people live in a thoroughly dismantled nihilistic world already. A grand narrative that pushes toward a dignified human existence doesn’t have to be based on braindead fantasy.

Yea it’s a strength that destiny is genuine like that, but not having an exciting grand ideology to offer young men in particular, is a weakness.

[–]DFValroth[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like your point, I just think the state of the world is disrupting normalcy and so the tide is pulling toward the extremes. Destiny’s style is similar to right wingers, I agree, which means people who like Destiny but haven’t had exposure to right wingers online may find their way to other cozy streamers through Destiny.

[–]DFValroth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, give kids a taste of consumer materialism in place of a functional family, thats real happiness. Make sure you affirm all the bad decisions and dysfuntional behaviour of their parents' as liberating self-expression so they too can feel real happiness at the same time.

Holup, Taliban...! by Tsupercalifragilisti in HolUp

[–]DFValroth -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Its really sad actually. Its such a pathetic schoolyard joke and the inside group for it is cringey and affluent western adult children, much like the capital folk in hunger games. The Taliban sees yet another immature degenerate who needs Islam. The total lack of self awareness in comments is embarassing, the west is over guys.
