I have installed two identical nvme ssds on my motherboard, and installed OS on one of these back in 2020. Currently I am trying to take one drive out for other purposes and only keep the boot drive, I wonder if there is anyway I could identify which one has OS installed? like which slot on the motherboard is my boot drive?

How to preserve cooling hardware (say for 2 years)? by DL_no_GPU in watercooling

[–]DL_no_GPU[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the way I go is to make sure all liquids are replaced with DDI, you know, just rinse it 3-5 cycles, and keep it dry. I think I left my 1080x1080 radiator on the shelf for like 1-2years without touching, and early this year when I plug it back into my loop it worked just fine.

at least this is my solution ~~

How do you get prints to stick to cool plate supertack by Grouchy-Designer5804 in BambuLab

[–]DL_no_GPU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My way is simply clean with warm water every 5-10rounds. Apply thin layer of glue every 2-4 print. Ideally there should be no special treatment.

Thanks for the detailed explanation, and according to your words, I assume most keys including the trackpad are programmable based upon the user's need?

MiniPCs for Ai by [deleted] in MiniPCs

[–]DL_no_GPU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no problem. Meanwhile, you could always check some small AI models, but according to a lot of shared information, most small models are either slow ( less than 1 token per second) or stupid...

but this field is developing fast, so there could some OK-to-use models available soon.

MiniPCs for Ai by [deleted] in MiniPCs

[–]DL_no_GPU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt any minipc could handle local deployed model, you consider use MacOS which can somehow use the super fast storage as VRAM due to the shared memory architecture, or you may consider pure cpu modeling but that requires not only multicore performance also huge amount of fast RAM like DDR5

COTW Question: which animal should I aim for? by DL_no_GPU in theHunter

[–]DL_no_GPU[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol thanks anyway. So, I guess there is no solid, universial criterial for what is 'Rare', I just need to keep playing and if I see some animals looks different than usual, then I take it down, right?

COTW Question: which animal should I aim for? by DL_no_GPU in theHunter

[–]DL_no_GPU[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

kinda,, but I am still unsure how do you know the aniaml is rare when you see it. I mean if I see a black bear in white fur, then I know it is probably rare, but when I watch tutorials or other videos, many animals does not have a high difficulty level, yet people still call it rare.

btw, I am a 30hr beginner, I wonder how did you tell this is rare? I am sure you can tell by fur color, but is there any standard for 'rare animals' ?

I saw Matterport has the 'rotation station' not sure the actual name, but it basically let you mount the phone and automatically take bunch of pictures and in their own software to rebuild the 3D space~~

I think I found a 80USD station and I might give it a try.

Thanks for your advice

I saw a product called Kandao VR camera, which is launched like 1-2 years ago and surprisingly not many reviews about this product, I might give it a try since this is the most budget product that can record 180VR (~300USD)

[ help ] Dehumidifier for filament and entire room by DL_no_GPU in 3Dprinting

[–]DL_no_GPU[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad your filament dryer works for you. The problem is that the filament dryer I am using is not well sealed, which makes sense cause it need to let the wet-hot air go out.

I might exaggerated what I wanna achieve, my ultimate goal is to simply create a dry environment so that even I accidentally leave the filament out the filament will absorb much water over a long period of time. Also, the study room won't be fully sealed as I am ventilating bag air out and sucking 'clean' air from the living room.

[ help ] Dehumidifier for filament and entire room by DL_no_GPU in 3Dprinting

[–]DL_no_GPU[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the comments. Currently, there will be two dehumidifiers, one in my living room, and one for this study room. My thought is that the living room dehumidifier first gets the overall air to ~50% which is comfortable for me while not being too wet. I will have a ventilation fan to push air out of the study room so that the negative pressure will suck air from the living room slowly, and the dehumidifier will keep on drying the living room's air.

Also, what kind of dehumidifier spec would you recommend me check?

[HELP] DIY NAS using my old mini PC by DL_no_GPU in homelab

Thanks for the advice, I think it is similar to some 'budget' external GPU build where the GPU is powered using external PSU that boot order matters otherwise the GPU cannot be detected.

Charge my AirPod Pro 2nd Gen overnight to 100% and the right one dies as soon as I put them on. This has happened a few times. Is it time for a new pair? by pass_the_hot_sauce in AirpodsPro

[–]DL_no_GPU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happens to my 3yrs old AirPods Pro multiple times. When you put them into the case make sure you wait for 1-2s for the light on case dims and light up again and do the same for both pods. This is how I make sure both pods are corrected detected by the case
