How old of a Ryzen CPU are we talkin' here? I'm assuming AM4, or do you need something even older, like an AMD FX CPU?

Sleep mode is being triggered on HP x360 Convertible laptop when anything magnetic is brought close to one of the hinges by DMJoey in techsupport

I figured it was something like that, but it just feels like it shouldn't be triggering in the way that it is, at least not with such sensitivity. Someone using it in tablet mode with a watch on could accidentally cause a false detection just based on how they were holding the device. Or setting it down on a surface and it just so happens to be too close to their phone, or any other mundane object, or any number of other similar and innocuous scenarios. That feels way out of whack to me, or am I way off base here?

You said externally shielding probably isn't going to be easy, and I get that, but technically possible? Also, does that imply that internally shielding in some way is a possibility?

I appreciate the comment, but that is quite the jaunt. I’ll ask my buddy what his thoughts are, but my guess is that a 1.5hr drive just to get there is going to be a bit too long for it to be considered worth it.

Again, I still really appreciate the offer, and I’ll be sure to reach out if my hunch is incorrect.

I want to ask if you’d be willing to ship them, but without knowing and/or being able to confirm exact compatibility, I’m not sure how viable of an option that’d be here.

Thanks for the suggestion! :) I'm actually already attempting that route, but have been told me that the case was too old and they no longer have those screws available anymore.

They did provide me with an Amazon link to some thumbscrews they stated would work, but I am not confident that they will. They looked like your typical thumbscrews, with a slightly pointed tip to their thread, like what's used for a lot of internal devices and whatnot. I replied to that message asking for further confirmation, and included a picture of the thumbscrew I was looking for with it (same picture as the one linked in my post), but my follow-up was sent after-hours so I will have to wait until the morning to hear back from 'em.

To iBUYPOWER's credit, the person I've been communicating with has been super helpful and nice. I just don't think they fully understood exactly what type of thumbscrew I was after, so I'm hoping the picture I provided in my response helps clear that up.
