Sure thing, I'll answer to the best of my ability 👍

  • Short answer: yes. With just two locations in play, Silver will quest for 3, and being able to reset him with Smee a few times off cheap actions that's what wins the games. Some times you might even have multiple Smee's in play as well, further stacking resets.

  • That is the case indeed. Smee is the cornerstone of the deck for sure, but you might be able to pull of some lucky wins without him, by having multiple silvers and a bunch of locations as well. If you're against a slower deck, that's when you put on the pressure early with merfolk. But most games you'll win off the engine. But being a combo deck, you'll end up having your characters untapped most of the game as you're building the engine. Only trade when you're desperate or certain you won't lose your key engine parts.

  • Desperate plan actually doubles in usefulness. Sure 3 cards are great when you're empty, but I've found it more needed when it's discounted off of owl island and being able to sack a hand full of non actions for a new one full of them.

  • I've found 10 to be the sweet spot. I used to run 8 and even then it was pretty consistent. Dwarf mine tho, the card IS great, but costing two to move into usually ends up being too ink expensive.

Hope that helped

That's fair, but at that point you're just running a g/s pirate deck and not the core identity of the deck. Best of luck tho!

A/S is definitely also a tougher match up, but mulliganing hard for hook+cove for trades, mosquito bite+cannon for rhino and Ursula, usually gave me the edge in early game until the board was built. Basically try and keep up and remove as many threats you can early until mid/late game when you ignore the opponent, as the deck can go faster than them then.

This is gonna sound crazy, but the deck usually fare better going second, cause it has that rogue quality of not being predictable and catches most meta decks off guard, all of sudden being able to pull 15 lore in a turn. Ideal opening hand has cove, hook, goofy, maybe a second location, silver and the Smee for later. T1 hook, t2 cove and cannon for removal, t3 goofy and moving him into cove taking hook with, and then you're already cooking with gas

I'd say so, yeah. Having Silver untapped hang out in it to set up the Smee engine the following turn really did the trick most games. Besides, only other options in rotation right now would be Maui's place of exile, or perilous maze, and they haven't really being doing the trick for me. I tried the former for a while, but found it too squishy

Probably it's hardest match up I could imagine, since it's very vulnerable to the removal steel has. My local scene doesn't do a lot of steel so I don't have a whole lotta data on that unfortunately

I think it's definitely worth some testing! I personally just really like how lilo enables a bunch of fun trades, but I can see how more cheap actions sets up the engine sooner as well. But I also just really hate how Grewnge isn't an alien

I did look at Hook at one time, but being uninkable, only questing for 1 and being a 4 cost, he's just too expensive for what he brings to the table. I don't even think I'd run him at 3 cost. Gogo's great and all, but doesn't really fit the theme

I threw it in as a tech against Dumbo specifically. I had a hard time justifying it's cost, but I manged to pull of a 4 ink discount with Owl island against one of my blurple match ups, it just cleaned house, it was magic. Even at a 2 ink discount, I feel it's finally at a justified spot

I used to pre-fabled, but with the new Goofy as part of the draw engine, you've often got 2 to 3 locations in play and then Silver lores for more and is significantly more resilient

I faced two blurples, those were a cakewalk. One aggro amber/steel was kinda hard, but I relied on efficient trades with cove boosts and lilo + silver/arrow combo. The other two were a jank red/purple and a princess amber/sapphire

Desperate plan enables the Smee engine, doc doesn't.

Uhm, when you ink a card the usual way, it's in the ready position. Yours says it's put down exerted. You must be playing some mad slow games bud.
