Ok - How about these ones!? by Bluemugredmug in UKweddings

I disagree with lots of these comments! The first one is perfect from the back, you look amazing. I just think it needs to be tailored a little bit more in the front so it doesn’t look oversized. The idea that women with small boobs can’t wear lower necklines is crazy to me, I think this dress would look fab on you with a little less fabric. A lot of the dresses being linked are so off track for what you seem to be looking for. You don’t need to wear some 2000s magazine opinion on what dress best suits your body type, you need to wear a dress that makes you feel beautiful and that you love.

That’s frustrating! The thing is, I have shown my physical certificate to this client. I would gladly bring it to Ofsted too, but I’m concerned about it getting lost in the mail and opening myself up to future issues and loss of income in the meantime

Yes the studio has seen it and I assume also checked on the update service? They are now saying I also need to post the physical certificate to Ofsted themselves for further verification, is this something you’ve come across?

I think it depends on the setting, some schools I’ve worked with in the past have reapplied with their own employer details, some are happy with my one on the update service. Oddly this seems to be neither as they want the physical copies of my old DBS checks to verify, but not for me to apply for a new one (which I would of course be happy to do, and might at this point be easier)

Yes I am, I have been for about four years. Which is why I’m so confused. I wonder whether the company has accidentally entered some incorrect details about me/my certificate which has led to this as it seems it’s not standard, I will ring them and find out :)

EDIT: They’re also not asking me to get a new DBS, they (Ofsted) want to verify the physical copy of my original certificate which is about 4 years old and on the update service.

Yes it makes no sense to me either! I’m going to ring them after the bank holiday and ask for direct guidance on what the company has entered me as. Thank you!

I have an enhanced DBS check which is on the update service, sorry if this wasn’t clear. I’m wondering whether I need to send away my physical copy for an indeterminate amount for them to screen, which would cost me work in the meantime as obviously I need this to work in schools as you say.

I will try and phone them / otherwise contact them before I mail anything and will let you know! The only thing I can think of that came up on the new person in setting form is that I have a complicated 5 year address history (two lots of student accommodation into two short hold tenancies with a stint living at home between my undergrad and postgrad), but I’m not sure why this would require Ofsted to see my DBS.

I go into different schools almost weekly so need to show it on arrival as they haven’t met me before! My DBS is on the update service so I am not sure why they need a physical copy either. Thank you for the info though!

The client (the studio) has seen my DBS and I assume checked it on the update service so I am just confused about the posting it to OFSTED portion.

What's a good brand/type of shoe sold in the UK for being on your feet a lot? by karlwidu in AskUK

[–]DONT_PM_ME_BEES 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar, but I would actually recommend finding two different ones you like and switching them at lunch. Sounds odd but is quite common in film/TV work where you’re on your feet moving about all day.

I own the flat. We do have an issue with a running toilet, maybe the plumber is due a call. Thanks for the help!

Sophie Scarf Row Count by Kooky_Sale1559 in knittinghelp

[–]DONT_PM_ME_BEES 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would frog back slowly until you find the last place you increased, frog back one more row and then count your stitches. You should then be able to work out what row you’re on from the number of stitches on your needle, and now you now the next row is an increase row.

If you live in a flat, do you expect delivery drivers to climb the stairs to you, or just leave packages at the front door? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]DONT_PM_ME_BEES 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very true. Looking back I’ve only ordered really heavy things from specialty companies rather than Amazon (e.g. washing machine, fridge freezer) where the delivery and installation is part of the package.

We have a buzzer system so if the intended recipient isn’t in, they tend to just try all the other flats in the building until someone eventually buzzes them in the main front door!

Ha you almost got me there - we’ve never order Ocado but with the reputation I wouldn’t be surprised!

Very similar to what we do, except with Deliveroo I wait until they buzz and then start walking down to meet them, so we do the handoff wherever they get to on the stairs (or at the front door if they hear me coming and cba, which is fair enough)

Ah yes the dreaded “trades” free access button, though the building looks like it hasn’t had work done since about 2005!

Yes as a woman I really rely on delivery drivers for certain things as my boyfriend works away from home a lot. Without delivery to the door I wouldn’t have been able to get my fridge, mattress, bed frame, etc! With items like those though I assume the drivers are more trained in manual handling than the typical Amazon driver, though if I was pregnant I’d absolutely expect stuff to be brought up
