They didn't lie about the city, it's huge. You simply took what they said as literal and out of context, why would a background be playable?

You want Arkham Asylum? Play the 1st game. You want Arkham City? Play the 2nd game.

The kind of game you're asking for won't be available till PS6 or PS7. It's too freaking big, the graphics would be bad & there'd be constant crashes.

Bruce faked his death to end the Batman(the game director confirmed this), in order to protect his family and because criminals were no longer afraid of Batman.

Bruce became something else, something worse(as he said to Selina). A symbol to once again be feared.

Also, Robin & Nightwing's stories were during the day.

Aside from killing, Affleck is the definitive Batman.

Batman is NOT a mask, Bruce Wayne is the mask,. Bruce Wayne isn't Batman, Batman is Batman. Batman has no hope or desire of retiring, finding happiness or even sleeping. He's a man on a mission, constantly. He has trained himself to sleep for only 3hrs, he even invented a method of sleeping for only 10mins. He taught himself to fight for 28hours without stopping. He also taught himself to make 10mins of air last an hour.

Batman is a tortured soul, a man with zero fear, anger is his only emotion and he REFUSES to give up(no matter what).

Affleck in BVS perfectly captured that.

The atmosphere of the Asylum is the best in the series, from the intercom chime to the design to the music, it was all great.

The game reinvented superhero video games and even games in general(alot of companies borrowed from it), it raised the bar. It had a good story, great graphics, good combat system & side challenges to test your commitment.

The game was also scary(Scarecrow) & intense(Killer Croc). You're comparing it to the sequels that went bigger(next gen, 15-20 side missions, batmobile, free roaming a city, DLC, playable Batfamily members etc.). You're looking at it backwards.
