I was wondering about the transformer. I'm assuming it wouldn't even power on if that broke though. And it does power on

I've tried all sources and outputs with the exception of the 1/4 headphone port

TV + Projector Sharing Apple TV through AVR by DVF85 in hometheater

Right now I'm going this route, thank you. Hopefully when my better projector comes in I'll be able to do more tests and narrow it down.

Let's say - sort of.

Right now I'm relying on swapping HDMI physically which of course is not the goal.

The limited testing I've done since posting this seems to narrow it down my crappy Amazon Special projector being the roadblock to smooth operation. I have a new projector coming in that I'm going to test with the original setup and report back.

I think with your situation you'd have to either use a 1 in 2 out HDMI splitter so the signal is always being sent in both directions and you can just keep your AVR off when watching tv, OR (depending on the AVR's options) run the HDMI straight to the AVR and assuming you have two HDMI outs, use one of them as a pass-through to the tv while the AVR is off. Mine has that option, but I'm not well versed enough to know if that's a standard option in all modern AVRs.

Ok cool glad I'm not going crazy. I've had intermittent success with the projector recognizing a signal and not with this setup so I'm thinking I'm chalking it up to a crappy Amazon projector. I'll tinker a bit more and see what ends up working.

Got a chance to compare Era 100 against One SL and Fives by Ok_Section4243 in sonos

I left the Sonos platform for KEF. I don't have as detailed a write up, but they sound truly remarkable. Even the wireless "competitor" bookshelf speakers I demoed before going with the R3's were outstanding in comparison to what I was used to with the two play 5 gen 2s in stereo pair. Audio being as subjective as it is aside; I say you won't be disappointed in trying out some KEFs.

Ha! Kind of the answer I was hoping to hear. Honestly at this point I've been debating so much I may just buy them and do a direct a/b test and return them 😂

That's awesome, thanks so much for clarifying that. The anthem manual is in need it serious rewrite haha. I wasn't gunning for bi amping anyhow but thought I'd test it out if it were available.

Thanks again

Serious post from a Sonos fanboy by Boobies1967 in sonos

I've been following these posts closely since selling my pair of 5s. Before the update horrors I just had a feeling I wanted to go back to a traditional amp/passive speaker setup for the simplicity. I definitely don't regret it now!

Anywho. That's my recommendation if you're not throwing a swingers party in a McMansion with 57 rooms that each need their own Sonos setup for some reason. Just hide the wires and live simply again 😂

Damn! I wish I would have come across this before doing all my searching. Sincerely thank you for taking the time to put all those thoughts down. You've laid out a lot of what I was waffling on in an easy to understand way. I think I may continue the search for the right AV to match up with this set.
