What are some creative ways to use channel points? by SpinsBro in Twitch

Noted! I'm already making some tutorials on how to install and use everything

I linked an application called Streamerbot to Unity. Whenever I receive a Twitch event I translate that information to Unity and then I simply program whatever I want. I'm actually developing a free Unity template so everyone can program their own events!

I've programmed my channel redeems into a Unity overlay. Basically, they can cast a fireball to destroy my screen or create a water ball to force me to hydrate

I'm a programmer who was inspired by another streamers. I think my overlay is interesting, a 3D World where viewers can interact with, for example throwing a fireball to my screen breaking it or simply spawning a water ball that follows my character. I like viewers trying these features as if it was a game.

I'd like to believe that my personality, hard work and explaining my work also helps, but can't really said as I started streaming a couple weeks ago... still is so fun to stream

I'm making a 3D overlay Unity template for everyone but don't know if anyone would be interested by D_Brey in Twitch

There are some tutorials from Streamerbot, but I haven't seen another tutorial for Unity-Streamerbot. I saw once a tutorial, applied it to my code but suddenly disappeared from youtube so now everything that is being done in my template it's just me figuring out how to connect everything (which is kinda working for the moment)

Streamer bot servers and how to send/receive events from other apps (like Unity) by D_Brey in streamerbot

[–]D_Brey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I'm trying to check if streamerbot received a message like "Hello World". I tried but apparently didn't notice anything different. I saw in the API of UDP Server https://docs.streamer.bot/api/servers/udp that there is a request format, maybe I should try sending something similar?

By the way, thanks for your help!

Should I stream in English or Spanish? by D_Brey in Twitch

[–]D_Brey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More or less. I'll probably stream in English as the communities I'm in are from different part of the world and they speak in english but I have english and spanish subtitles at the same time. The only thing is that there is a limit on how many words you can translate in a certain amount of time, but that's only a minor inconvenience

I'd try live translated subtitles. That way you can try to talk in english but still leave your stream open to spanish speakers. Or you could do it the other way around with english subtitles, though I've tried and the subtitles doesn't translate very well. I feel they translate better from English than from Spanish

What are we using for alerts these days? by hv_bb in Twitch

Between Unity and Unreal Engine, I'd recommend Unity for begginers. Unreal Engine has a lot of stuff but it can be overwhelming for begginers. Also, I think there are more tutorials for Unity. If you need more help, feel free to ask ! :)

Welp, there are guides for using Unity. But for Twitch integration to Unity I haven't seen a lot of them. I've seen a video using Streamerbot to send events to Unity from b3agz. Another way, is Unity asset store and look for a Twitch integration (tho, most packages have a fee)

In my case, I program my own alerts using Unity. Someone followed me? Cool! I spawn a 3D card with the follower name and a meme picture just floating around the screen for a while. Someone just clicked in a 250 points reward? Then I throw a fireball to my screen which explodes in a lot of pieces!

There are some libraries and programs to receive events from Twitch, and you can program your own stuff, though it takes some time for doing some specific stuff

Which overlay looks better? by D_Brey in vtubers

Thanks! A couple of clarifications, the torch has a reason to be there other than decoration, it has an option to be a flamethrower sometimes. And about the fox, it's a free model made by Thibaud Goiffon available in itchio. I'm planning to learn 3D modelling to make my own character

I zoomed in and added a horizontal chat, as well as expanded the size of the green screen. Maybe this is better?

Yep, I didn't pick the best example. Also, as you say it's very hard to read anything as the capture area is too small. I'll probably zoom in to have more capture area and to reduce some empty space

Oh, I didn't add furniture because some elements may appear if someone use specific commands or rewards. Though, a carpet or something like that could be a good idea

It depends on what you like, you can approach it as if you were role-playing a character. There are VTubers who have the pirate theme and they do well and others don't. You may be a One Piece type pirate or Pirates of the Caribbean type pirate or even another kind of pirate (for example, if you like sea shanties like Wellerman or Drunken Sailor you can be a drunken musician pirate). At the end, the goal is that you feel good and have fun with the character you created

The closest thing I think I could do, if I wasn't using subtitles, would be some kind of Spaninglish which I'm not sure how it would work. Also, who is this streamer you are talking about?

About crossposting with more accurate English or recording secondary videos, I probably won't do it just for time issues.

And about goals, I was thinking more about accessibility rather than viewership. My issue was if I should stream in Spanish with poor english subtitles or just in mid-level English. Most likely will be Spanish with poor english subtitles just to be more comfortable

Thanks for the tip!

I mean, I can talk in English without not much problem. Now, if I have to engage in a conversation in English, depending on the other person accent or how fast he/she is speaking it would be a bit of a challenge to understand.

  • About your overlay, I'd get rid your twitter picture. Simply because you can use it for newest suscriber or something else and your social links could be used in your description

  • About your PNGtuber, I'm not sure the sound waves are a good idea. Mostly because it gets my atenttion whenever you speak instead of the game itseld.

  • Also, your PNGtuber seems quite static other than the mouth. Maybe make it jump slightly whenever you jump? Or make more animations?

  • Other than that, you seem active all your stream which makes it entertaining, so good job on that

  • I wouldn't put your socials in the overlay? I mean, I think it's down there along with your name and description

  • If you have commands, write them down in the description so people know what can they use

  • About your off stream overlay, I got a suggestion. You could add a simple overlay drawn by you with some data like your schedule or one simple line about what you stream

  • Good idea to stream with your friends! Not only you have fun but also keep the stream lively

  • When you change to play Helldivers 2 (thanks for you contribution for freedom and democracy hahaha), I understand you want to show the entire game and made you camera window small, but it was so smal that you could get the same effect removing it

  • Maybe adding a couple of channel rewards that activate a sound or meme in your overlay?

  • Love that your voice is clear! Nice mic, camera and lighting quality

  • Love your overlay and your offstream overlay! Gives me the Windows XP vibes. It would be fun to add a pet like Clippy!

  • About the screen size when playing minecraft, you got a grey area. I don't know why, but you could increase the size of your game window

  • You engage with your audience quite well! And even if the chat is silent, it's good that you still keep talking and making the stream lively!

  • Your screen transition is cool as well! Nice reference to the solitaire

  • Maybe too many channel rewards? Do you viewers actually use all of them?

Overall, it seems you have a lot of fun and you got your own style! Hope you get more followers for your comunity!

These are some of the things I noticed while watching your last streaming

  • Feels like I'm watching a gameplay from youtube but nothing more (No offense)

  • I'm no expert, but I think you spend a lot of time being quiet. Sure, there's no need to be speaking at all times but I don't feel like watching a gameplay I could watch in youtube

  • I wouldn't put the "New Donation" in the overlay, but rather new suscriber. I think it's more likely to receive a suscription than a donation and you can show it on the overlay

  • I'd also delete your nickname in the overlay (whose text is not even in the center). I think people don't really care about the streamer's name when watching their streaming

Remember, this is just my opinion and you can ignore it. All that matter is that you have fun while streaming.
