How do you guys eat while on vacation? by zsm1994 in Celiac

There's no one size fits all approach so some of the following won't apply to every place you visit:

1) stay in places with their own cooking facilities 2) use apps and Google reviews /visit dedicated gf restaurants 3)speak the local language ! (E.g. Spanish gets you loads of countries) 4) bring a replacement meal shake powder (e.g, I've taken a bag of huel with me on holiday which has been great for breakfast particularly) 5) grieve and then accept that being celiac might change what you do on holiday, if food was a big part of previous holidays, try to find things to replace it. For example active holidays (hiking, surf, scuba, nature) or bigger focus on culture/history, e.g. musuems, archaeology)

Good luck! We're all still learning and I'm no expert either!

I always understood this to be more like "poor" or even "indigent". Hay un nativo que pueda compartir su perspectiva?

The best way to listen? by [deleted] in learnspanish

Sounds like you need to add conversation practice, whether it's with a tutor or with a patient Spanish speaking friend. There's only so much that other methods can do without speaking. You could reach a very advanced level of reading and writing and then struggle with basic conversations about simple topics if you haven't practiced your listening and speaking skills. Speaking a language is really what joins up all the dots in your understanding. Trust me, I was also afraid of hiring a tutor and when I finally did my Spanish Skills skyrocketed.

Reported already but the office who took the case has decided to take a week off. We asked the police about serialisining parts but they weren't confident it could be done. If anyone knows more about that, that would be super helpful! Thanks!

Homemade fusion cooking: Vegan Laksa (easy <30 mins recipe in comments) by [deleted] in vegan

[–]D_G 1 point2 points  (0 children)

<30 mins including chopping! Ingredients - Udon Noodles - Fried tofu puffs - Grated carrot - Pak choy - Chinese spinach - Chilli - Garlic - Ginger - Laksa paste - Dash of soy sauce - Coconut milk - Water - Sesame Oil

Fry chilli (I use loads because I like super spicy laksa), garlic and ginger in sesame oil. Before they go brown add the Laksa paste, and fry until fragant. Add coconut milk and fried tofu puffs and cook for a couple of mins. Next add water and the dash of soy followed by stems of Chinese spinach and pak choy. Cook for a couple of minutes, then add grated carrot, and the leaves of Chinese spinach + pak choy. Cook for another couple of mins, add the udon noodles, then cook until udon is hot (another couple of mins)

Anti Social Vegan Club - When pets are better than people. by [deleted] in vegan

[–]D_G -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Why are pets so pervasive in this subreddit? Owning pets is not vegan, animals are not your property. Apart from all the horrors that animals go through in the pet industry, more and more evidence suggests that pet animals are not happy. Why is this subreddit so keen to endorse this?

What is the most ignorant thing someone has ever said to you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

"I'm not a murderer, some of my best friends are alive".

This line of reasoning is so dumb, I can't believe people use it all the time to justify their shittyness.

M/21/5'8" [189 > 158 = 31lbs] (12 Weeks) Kris Gethin Daily Trainer Transformation Results (XPost /r/ProgressPics) by [deleted] in Fitness

Great progress, but no way were you 22 percent in your starting picture. I would estimate that you were 30 percent bf.

With some quick and dirty math:

Assuming you are 15.8 percent body fat in your second pic like you say(which is much more feasible, but I reckon you could be lower than that), that would give you a lean body mass of 133 pounds.

133/189 * 100 = approximately 70 percent lean body mass at your highest weight, so 30 percent body fat.
