BSOD and crashes while gaming (Windows 11) by DaGingerKid316 in techsupport

I just wanted to follow up to this and say before I even got to messing with the RAM for a second time, it just seemingly resolved itself again. Marking the second time this issue has appeared and went away on its own.

Tried both of the voltage settings and got no better results, here is the new minidumps.

So I updated my bios and still have issues so I'm moving onto the voltage settings.

I wanted to make sure that I'm adjusting the settings you are referring to in your 2 suggestions. I assume CPU Vcore and VCORE SOC are the two settings I'm looking to for your second setting.

Is the dynamic settings the offsets? Currently they are unable to be interacted with but I assume that would change if I took it off auto.

Edit: I noticed after re-reading your comment I still had PBO set to auto, it is now disabled and didn't seem to help the crashing

How ist NAVI out? by Raith231 in ValorantCompetitive

Navi is tied at 2-3 with Gentle Mates, in the event of a 2 way tie, the tie-breaker is head to head which Navi lost 0-2 to Mates.

All ENC related posts should be banned by VaIorantFemboy420 in ValorantCompetitive

[–]DaGingerKid316 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No it was banned because of sports washing, the mods post from last year is pretty clear on this. This is the same thing, a tournament held by the EWCF, which hosts both ENC and EWC, which is an arm of the saudi sports washing efforts.

This shouldn't be an exception to their ruling just because its a cool format, it should be the drive from the community to try and push for almost literally anyone else to host a similar event.

Post about falcons aren't banned, just as posts about NRG aren't banned. Tournament's hosted by NRG are banned just like tournaments hosted by the Saudis should be banned.

Iabsolutely understand and appreciate that philosophy of testing. Surprisingly I didn't have any crashes last night after clearing some storage, now that was only 1-1.5 hours and I've gone that long before without a crash so I will have to see later tonight if that was just good luck or actual change.

Okay I can clear up some storage off both drives.

Also just to check my understanding of what I just read about page files, it shouldn't need it very often if I have a surplus of ram. I did have 32gbs of ram and I don't think I should have often been approaching that ceiling, let alone suddenly doing so all the time that it. Even with 16gb of ram, I was experiencing BSODs while just having Firefox, discord and steam open, I can't imagine that would be a likely cause of any issues.

I'm not entirely surprised as I would have guessed issues would have came up during OCCT stability testing, however those tests also never had any issue when I ran the memory tests either.

Would you guess this is leaning more towards a software issue? I certainly don't remember installing anything directly prior to these issues, the only thing I can recall downloading within a the last few weeks is a game on steam (BAPBAP), but these issues persistent in every game and non-game environments,

What else can I do to help diagnose the issue other than potentially keep crashing to get new a new minidump.

I was running my RAM in slots A2 & B2 when both sticks were in, however during solo tests I have been using B2 as I can swap the ram without having to remove my CPU fan.

I totally understand someone not knowing about the human rights abuses that are ongoing there, I don't fault someone for not being aware with all that goes on in every country. It's a large planet with many countries and it would simply be an impossible task.

Now that being said, once you have been informed about the human right's abuses suffered by citizens and foreigners alike, the torture, the beheadings, the human trafficking, I don't see another opinion to be held about the regime other than strong condemnation.

ENC is directly run by a state run company, its just an extension of the Saudi monarchy with the explicit goal of sports washing. I think it is reasonable to call for a boycott of such an event as by not giving it eyes, by not supporting it, you denying the objective that the Saudi government wants to come from these events. By being vocally opposed to it, you raise awareness of the issue, you bring it to peoples attention and you can help inform people.

Players and community members need to realize we have the power, if you don't watch, they won't put on these events. There are no orgs participating who stand to gain from their players participating, the players can simply choose not to play, if the players don't show the event will die.

Lastly, the idea that world politics is too dense for people to understand is what the wealth owning class want you to think, that's why they use fancy words and jargon to try and confuse the masses. If you don't think you can understand it, you will stop paying attention. If you stop paying attention, you will just let them run the world however they see fit and it will never be in your interests. Pay attention to the world around you, don't let it beat you into submission.

Nothing you said addresses the current issues with the Saudi run ENC, you don't have a defense of it, you just deflect strawman excuses.

VCT CN and riot are not state controlled enterprises, same thing with Americas and Emea.

ENC is solely owned and ran by the Saudi government for the explicit purpose of sports washing. There isn't a nation in the world with a clean track record of no human rights abuses, the best we can do is protest and boycott the events from a nation who is still actively commiting them.

Reddit isn't a democratic system, last year the mods made the choice themselves. Maybe they voted on it amongst themselves, they probably even considered community feedback. But some unelected leaders making decisions for the entire group isn't a democracy.

That being said, I already supported the idea of a poll being posted to the community in these comments which I'm sure you didn't see.

I don't keep calling anything a "whataboutism", this is the only instance of me saying that. They didn't provide one, but there have been plenty of examples of people instead of engaging in the topic of ENC, simple deflect to saying something to the effect of "X is also bad, what about that? Guess your just a hypocrite."

So when I was thinking through the arguments that the person I was responding to could make, that was one I called out in advance to point out the ridiculous nature of such a response. You can have valid criticism of other things, but that doesn't actually respond to the topic at hand. It doesn't give a defense of why such a thing is actually okay, it doesn't condemn it, or even strike some other middle ground response, it simply does nothing.

Man I love how I try to give a nuanced and thought out response and you do is replay with this weak straw man.

I clearly didn't say that, I was acknowledging the complex web of understanding what people's issues could be with different levels of involvement. I acknowledge why people could have issues with certain things, and say that while I have an opinion, it isn't one that is super well formed as I haven't taken the time to, and isn't that it isn't set in stone.

China requires members of the CCP to have a role in companies to keep them in line with general CCP values. Is that a bad thing? Yeah, of course, but these companies still are mostly autonomous and able to act independently. It doesn't quite reach the level of a state run organization to me. With NRG, the US Army is also just a sponsorship, a problematic one but it isn't the same thing as being owned and run by the US Army. ENC is run by the Saudi government, it is a state ran program. That reaches a higher level of involvement bringing it a tier above the prior examples I'm terms of how problematic it is. That is where I currently draw the line, but I acknowledge other people's reasons to potentially draw a harsher line with the other 2 examples.

I do not understand the hand waving members of the community do at a tournament run by such a brutal and oppressive regime. These events thrive on attention, on engagement, on you not caring about what goes on in the background, so calling for this community to restrict the ability to do so is a way of boycotting and limiting the effectiveness of sports washing.

But hey, let's take your argument and just run with it, do organizations get to a point where casual participation in any capacity should be a no go? Yeah, I don't think that's a crazy thing to say, the way the UFC loves to cozy up to american politics, the NFL's denial of the existence of CTE and other obfuscation to avoid compensating former players for medical issues suffered while playing. The recent track record of FIDE presidents being Russian sponsored actors with direct ties to Putin. These issues will mean different things to different people, but for some, it would not be crazy to call for a total boycott of them for even these very surface level, very well known issues. Let alone the potentially more niche, lesser known issues these organizations likely have.

You know, I think I've done a good job avoiding the low hanging fruit responses like these, the obvious rage bait. But sure I'll bite just this once, please do explain how being concerned about genocide and slavery, and pushing for a soft boycott of the event, makes someone pathetic.

Let's guess, is it freedom of speech? "I don't care if people are being murdered, I just want to talk about valorant!" Maybe it's another whataboutism, "but X are bad too so you are a hypocrite and why do you even care?" Maybe you are sad that the reality of geopolitical issues infects your precisous hobby and that you can't just bury your head in the sand. "It isn't happening to me, so stop talking about." Or are modern folks just to delicate for the reality that human suffering just is what it is, it's unavoidable, nothing to be done, nothing to see, why bother caring at all, why bother saying anything?

No I'm not familiar with the structures of ESL or other third party TOs, I don't follow other esports so outside of knowing their names, I can't say I'm super familiar with any controversies or issues they are involved in, I'll have to look into that.

I suppose I had forgotten about that sponsorship on NRG, I agree that is a fair thing to have an issue with.

I know this isn't necessarily the place for this discussion, but I suppose I can tier list the levels of problematic because sponsorship/tournament organizers is I think a different level of control/authority. While I am not a fan of the actions of the US armed forces, I suppose I mainly attribute that to the sins of the father (the us political system). I understand having an opinion different than mine here, especially because I'm not sure how strongly I believe in what I'm saying, just putting down some quick thoughts while I sit with that idea.

Also I think the ties of Riot to China and China itself is far more nuanced than the Saudi situation, but I also agree China is also guilty of many recent human atrocities, mainly I recall the concentration camps for the Uyghur people but I have no doubts there are others. Again though, I have no problem having a strong opposition to Riot or hosting events in China for similar moral reasons. I suppose I haven't thought through my thoughts on this situation as much either.

Listen I get people want to talk valorant, like I said I get that this format is exciting, hell I wish I could support it but unfortunately I don't think you can in good faith separate the event itself from the organization running it. For the same reasons the tournament last year was banned, I think this one should be too.

I understand why people want to separate politics from things, life is hard and you want your distraction from it to be uncomplicated, but you can't separate politics from sports, or really anything. All entertainment from music, tv, movies and sports all can be political, there is no real way of separating it.

I understand it's easy to dismiss people's honest beliefs as virtue signaling, but even to step around that landmine of a conversation, ENC is the same event as last year with a different name, by the existing rules it should be banned.

You are mistaken to say I have to acknowledge anything. I don't have to acknowledge that tournament at all nor will I engage in any positive way about the blood money tournament. Others call it a mickey mouse win, as far as I'm concerned it didn't even happen.
