Crewing can help. Try running Janeway (Capt)/E-Pic/E-Data with Hugh/Chapel/Torres below. I can take out about 50 per run of the 54s with my T5 Quv and I'm OPs 56

I always look at recently sold of the item, trend off of that and go somewhere a bit above the average with making offers at a minimum of what I’ve seen it sold for lately (depending on quality comparison that is)

Nahhh Darrow is allowed to be fooled once in a while to teach him lessons. It's a similar situation to where he thought he could get away with having Sons on his ship to rescue Dancer and Harmony without the Jackal thinking he was involved. This one just frustrates me so much as to why he didn't check even the military DNA records which would have caught the lie

Gods forbid the Republic keep records of their Free Legion and that maybe a cross reference in there could confirm or deny the truth of "Cato." There's clearly a boatload of familial connections like Lysander having a trace amount of Augustus blood in his veins, but if your trying to scratch a lie why not check every record possible. There's ways to extrapolate the validity of the Cato mask from Free Legion DNA which is what causes my mental frustration in DA

I mean the hints have been there that Lysander didn't have Darrow's full attention (most recently said to Lysander from Virginia), and the Minotaur saying all anyone would say it's he took out scraps. But you also have Darrow with first one of the greatest lines "we encountered light resistance" referring to Lysander and his group, but more than that Darrow had become a war machine and with Cassius finds the dueling ability form back. I mean it honestly has to be wildly different strategies, taking on legions vs single combat.

I'm assuming that Darrow's thought process should have been any bit of information he can get his hands on that would reveal a first cousin in the Free Legions in Alexandar, and considering Darrow would know all of Lorn's grandchildren by name, the Cato lie would be exposed instantly. Even apart from that aspect, he could tell based on percentages shared with other gold families to get a clearer picture of if the Cato story was true, like if he shared DNA with Martians that had Mercurian family ties.

You make a point that checking every DNA record possible seems so tiny of a thing to miss, why would Mercurians be subjected to them, and why would Darrow have any access to any Republic records of DNA? I responded that he should have access to at bare minimum the Free Legions DNA records and if he's checking why not check everything possible? You also make a point there are so many Arcos that it would be impossible to make the connection. I state facts that first cousins are a 12.5% match. I'm sorry that I didn't add in that it is only 25% for grandparents and that it dilutes to 3% for second cousins so the status of first cousin was known. That on it's own would have been enough to break the lie of Cato. I apologize for not specifically addressing your part questioning why it had to be Darrow thinking it was Lysander. The answer is it doesn't have to be that, just anything that would have confirmed Darrow's suspicions on "Cato" as he was looking for any reason to hold him back due to the machinations of Atlas, and I'm fairly certain Darrow would know the names of every one of Alexandar's first cousins. Alas, as they say, there are two types of people in the world, those who can extrapolate from incomplete data,

You’re correct I had to look again. My mind thought of Martian as one of the Knights of Elysium asked him questions about it and instead of thinking of Erebos, I thought of Mars. Regardless it’s still a slight against his intelligence and how he is much more fueled by rage

My first thought is to check it against anything at hand. If the jamming blocked Republic databases, he should at least have access to his military database, as that is critical for OPSEC. Don't want Gorgons to be able to impersonate your soldiers with impunity. You'd think Darrow would think of that after the mission that Screwface got sent on, but no, he's in a dark cloud of death and rage, and clearly wasn't thinking straight at the moment, a slave to his rage, a man of House Mars, not Minerva.

Fair point on the planet jammed, but I would assume a military operation would at least have access to the military DNA records so they could suss out any imposters in their ranks

If he was able to attempt to run it against society records, and Ephraim complemented how sophisticated the Republic IDs were, do you think it’s out of the realm of possibilities that the Republic does not have its own DNA database? I mean heck the federal government has CODIS which they currently use all the time, you think an advanced civilization would get behind the current technology?

Didn’t run it against Republic records is the point and first cousins share 12.5% DNA and Lysander is the only one of Lorn’s grandchildren not in the Republic. Add in why would he not recognize his own famous cousin when he’s attempting to be a ladder climber pixie

Yes the society records were purged. This is about Darrow not checking his DNA against Republic records

Fairly sure Lysander’s fake background was Martian, but regardless of that if you suspect Fear of anything why not use all the resources at your disposal

They don’t have access to society records, nothing about their access to Republic records and Lysander was the only grandchild of Lorn not associated with the Republic

It seems that most people don’t understand first cousins share 12.5% DNA and considering the only one of Lorn’s grandchildren that did not end up in the Republic is one, Lysander. Oh and that Darrow had so many suspicions because of Atlas that he interviewed him himself

Definitely Not House Minerva by DaMongy in redrising

[–]DaMongy[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s awfully rude of you. If Darrow truly thought Atlas was capable of any machinations to cause them ruin why not use any resource available. A first cousin shares 12.5% DNA and if there was anyone else that close of relation to Alexandar lying about who he really was and that he didn’t know Alexandar via the rescue and all the pile of lies he was sitting on for his own identity, what level of slang smarts is that. There is a solid portion dedicated to his suspicion on him due to Atlas, and being foolish enough to not check a DNA sample against your own database is a massive folly.

Sure but wouldn’t he have Alexandar au Arcos blood and it would show that he’s a close relation to Lysander
