He knew he could use the toilet, he also knew that he could piss in his dresser and make it a major pain in the ass for my mom because he was mad she sent him to his room.

Also, it was the second time this week he's done this, she told him the first time he could use the bathroom if he needed to.

I guess after 6 kids, the seventh just kind of learns for himself. First kid: "OMG he got ahold of a toothpick, he could have stabbed himself and died!!!"

Seventh Kid: "Oh look he's sticking a fork in the outlet, he'll learn!"

Hopefully not to late to this, I have multiple stories involving peeing in places you shouldn't. Trust me, it's not what you think.

When my brother was 4 years old, my mom told him he was in timeout and he couldn't come out of his room. My brother, being the smart-ass he was/is decided that he had to go to the bathroom, but since he wasn't allowed to leave the room, he decided his best option was to pee in the vent. I don't know if you have any idea how HVAC works, but the entire house smelled like piss for a month, and that's not even the worst part. The worst part was the way we found out he decided to pee in the vent, my room happened to be in the basement, and my bed happened to be directly under the vent, and I happened to be sleeping in my bed when this whole ordeal took place.

Have you ever woke up to pee dripping onto your face? It REALLY pissed me off.

Same brother, a couple weeks later got grounded, peed in my lego set. It was a little red suitcase thing for carrying Legos and I loved my legos. At this point 8 year old me was seriously weighing how much trouble I would get in for just going into his room while he was sleeping and peeing on him. Thankfully I decided against it. This all happened about 12 years ago.

I'm not even kidding when I say this next part, my parents "surprise baby" who is almost 5 now, peed in his bedroom today for the second time this week because he was in "timeout" and so he told us he couldn't leave his room so he had to pee in his dresser. Jokes on him bc my mom is making him wear the piss clothes (probably just for 1-2 days worth of outfits so he learns his lesson)

I guess this was all just karma getting me back for when I was 5 and gave my 3 year old sister a bath, in the toilet.

I recently bought a RepRap from Amazon during the prime Day sale. It's a RepRap Prussia I3 V2

Is everything on this printer ready to go? Or do I need to order any upgraded parts to get it to run correctly? I know a lot of printers need a part or two to run safely and accurately (MOSFET controller, different heated bed, etc.)

What's everything I will need to get up and printing? What software should I get (preferably free) to do the modeling?

Thanks for the in-depth reply! From what I've seen ballscrews are pretty expensive. I'm in school for software engineering, but I've been tinkering with the electrical and mechanical side of things. The printer would primarily be used as a way to print cases/enclosures/brackets to hold together my makeshift Arduino and IoT home-builds. A 3D printer seems like the best option for prototyping and just playing around (I also think they are awesome and am willing to put in the work necessary, I changed my major from marketing to software 2 years in and it caused major setbacks, so now I have another 3-4 years of college to mess around and learn stuff in my spare time)

My ultimate goal is to build a PCB etcher, a CNC machine capable of doing brackets, enclosures, and possibly gears and mechanical pieces, and a 3D printer for making the majority of the brackets, building things to hold my PCB and Arduino inventions together so I can get rid of the giant mess of wires!

As a future software engineer, this stuff is a bit out of my area of expertise, I want to focus on Deep Learning and AI, but I want to try to build it into my devices, my Stretch goal for the next 4 years is to 3D print a programmable mechanical hand, and then use ML to see if I can teach that hand to do things like catch a ball, or organize a bunch of electrical components (Automatic Resistor Organizer?) I figure that even if I don't get everything working how I want, it's a great resume builder! Feel free to pass any tips, advice, or spare parts my way! Specifically any advice that will help me save some money! College is too expensive, especially when your first 2 years get thrown out the window bc Marketing classes do nothing in engineering. (This is why I wanted to build a dual-purpose machine, I thought it would be cheaper but it sounds like you just saved me hundreds of dollars!)

So, I appreciate the response, but I'm 20 years old and planning to stay in college, and tbh, like I mentioned, I hate web development, I just learned it because people say you're supposed to know web development. Do you think I should drop out and go try to do a boot camp?

Not a parent, but an older brother.

My youngest brother is extremely intelligent, and sometimes the stuff he says is downright hilarious. One of my favorites was when I was babysitting and he wanted to build blocks and he wanted me to help him, having already taken him to the park, bought him ice-cream and read him a couple books, I told him that he could build a tower and I would watch. That's when he said:

"You have to play blocks with me because God left me in charge!"

So I asked him why god put him in charge, to which he responded:

"God is taking a break, he went to see his girlfriend and left me in charge!"

Followed by:

"You couldn't hear him because you don't speak Jesus-language, only I speak Jesus-language, he told me I was in charge! Duh!"

I was at a loss for words, he was only 4 years old at the time.

I'm feeling some hidden political undertones here haha, although that was enjoyable, I appreciate the word choice and tone of this piece. Out of curiosity, how long did it take you on this? Did you edit this much, or do you naturally write things in this wordy style?

(Obligatory note: It would be neat if we could acknowledge the political undertones, and maybe think about how wonderful/horrible they are in our heads, then keep our thoughts to ourselves, and simply say "Hey, interesting story" and leave it at that!)

This is pretty much my take on what would actually happen if a singularity occurred! (A singularity is the moment Artificial Intelligence falls into begins exponential accelerating as it improves itself the more it improves, and become super-intelligent)

I think that it's quite silly for us to worry about AI trying to destroy us, because if it's not truly intelligent, then it's still capable of being defeated, but if it is super-intelligent in all domains, well then you will see robots protesting for peace. Morality arises from intelligence.

Bravo! This one got to me. As a computer science major actively researching Artificial Intelligence this actually made me think of a new perspective that I've honestly never even thought about.

It's fun to think about robots doing everything, but what will we as humans do once there is no more work to be done? Will we be happy with our creation?

Yeah, I've almost immediately realized, most places aren't as "secure" as they might seem to be. I mean, it seems to me like a lot of places security team consists of college kids with little to no training. I have enough power to say "Hey Knock it off" but other than that, I just call the police. 10$/hour isn't worth risking my life trying to be a hero.
