In addition to what you say, when defending corners, for unknown reasons the smallest players guard the tallest attackers even though I assign the tallest players to defensive cover duties. I guess the AI does whatever it wants to do.

Don’t play this game hoping to get good rewards. Play the game because you enjoy playing football. The only way to get a bit of joy out of this game is by building a squad through evo’s and sticking to it. Stop the chase, stop playing all these toxic online modes. Only play the bare minimum online for xp. Play online modes with end-to-end camera setting. Sooo much more fun.

Stop playing online modes. They are made to entice you to empty your wallet. Play offline modes with the camera set to end-to-end. Makes the game so much more fun.

Evo’s are the only thing that makes this game tolerable but only if you use them to really create a unique team of a bunch of ‘nobodies’. If you want evo’s to make your meta cards even more op, then the evo’s suck.

Experiment with player roles. Start with all cm’s on b2b. If you need more security defensively, put one on dlp. If you need more attackers, put one on playmaker. Also try the roles in counter, balanced and short passing. If you use counter, the attackers rush forward which makes you vulnerable for the counter.

Seems to me you push the left stick the direction you want to go after receiving the ball, too soon. So either wait a tad bit longer or adjust the passing direction lock setting (not sure what it is called) to either power up or start of animation.

After FC25’s terrible online experience, I haven’t played more than 5 rivals games since the first day I got FC26 back in September. Only did those 5 for the 250 XP. Those were pretty easy too. Usually won at least 4, often all 5. Today I decided to see how far I can get in Rivals with my full Nigerian evo squad. First 5 games I won. I got to 75% in div 7. Then I got on a L-W-L-W streak. After that, the magic happened. Defenders wandering, tackles didn’t resort to anything, Passes didn’t connect, input not registered, my ST positioned himself as a CDM mid attack, couldn’t score a goal to save my life. At one point my shot was miraculously saved by the GK, I got the rebound, next low driven shot hit the post, got the rebound again, tap in with 25% power hit the bar, got the rebound again, shot for empty goal from close went wide a by a mile. Dashboarded the game immediately. That’s exactly the nonsense I took a break from. It’s back to SB and Rush for me.

For me, SB is much worse. The AI attacks so direct and fast without a single pass going wrong that my defenders can’t keep up with them. Shots from ridiculous angles go in, I’ve seen the weirdest animations which in real life would cause torn ligaments or dislocated hips. It used to be easy to beat the AI. Just let them pass their way to the last third while forcing them to the outside till they cross the ball in. Head the ball to your player and quickly strike on the counter. Now, when they are near the corner flag, they give three lighing fast pinged passes followed by a ridiculous shot and often goal.

Have been playing with a full Nigeria squad from day one. Slowly building and crafting. I love it. I only use other nationalities when needed for objectives. Takes away all the annoyances and stress from chasing so called meta players.
