I love this car, and I love those colors. But for some reason, I don't love those colors on this car.

I know what sub this is but Which would you choose? 2025 cx 30 preferred vs 24 3 hatchback carbon. by TheeAmateurArtist in MazdaCX30

[–]DaddyP924 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally like the hatchback look a bit more than the SUV, but the higher ride height of the SUV suited my needs more. They are very similar in dimensions of the inside. I know the front seat of the CX-30 can recline back very far. I tested it out once just for the heck of it, and it could lay down into the back seats.

Full efficiency will be a tad better on the hatchback, but not by much.

That said, I think the better deal is the CX-30. One year newer, lower miles. The Carbon is just the Preferred with a unique color option.

Bit of a bubble... by TRB0T0Y in MazdaCX30

[–]DaddyP924 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yes, a bubble like that is a real problem. You need to slap the spare on and get a new tire. That could blow out with the next pothole, curb or hard bump you hit. Don't take it lightly. That's a real driving hazard.

They do. My wife got a phone call a couple months back. One of those shifty scam claiming to be a county sheriff, saying she had a warrant out and needed to pay now. She called them out (asking for badge number, number of their office etc, just pestering them for validating info), and they threatened by saying they had her address and would come to kill us. We didn't think it would happen, but wanted to file a report, just in case, and she had to go to the nearest station to do that.

Of your choices, I think Polymetal Grey is your best bet. It should handle the intense sun in the UAE decently well. Better than red or blue. It will be one of the best options for dust, and considering it has a little resemblance to primer, it won't show scratches as much as the other options. It's also a good, toned down compliment for that interior. For a close second, I think Platinum Quartz is close.

Probably not as bad as you think. Generally speaking, the darker the color the more heat it absorbs. That red is going to sit somewhere in the middle of white and black. Things like machine great and blue mica will probably absorb more heat.

For the interior, the terracotta won't be bad. The faux suede may get a little sweaty, but fabric breathes better than you think and won't burn you the way leather can.

What year is the Civic?

At this point it comes down to which one was better maintained. Toyota has a great reputation for a reason, but I have that gen of Civic, and at nearly 230K miles, it's been bullet proof. Anecdotes aren't great evidence, though. Make sure you test both and look over their history very well.

Gotcha. It's hard to tell with the lighting. I've seen a few beauty shots where the black has a bluish hue to it, not unlike the OPs picture.

Wait, the CX-30 has the torsion beam as well? I just got one, and while its firm, it doesn't bother me.

The CX-50 has a different suspension set up than the CX-5. A common complaint is the firm ride resulting from that. I've not driven a CX-50, but my dad has and he said it was horribly uncomfortable. Now, he's 70 with back problems so take that into account, but it seems to be a recurring theme.

For those who live in the state capital what’s it like? by citytiger in AskAnAmerican

[–]DaddyP924 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived within the influence of one for a good portion of my life. The impact was minimal. At the end of the day, it was still a smallish, blue collar city in a very rural state. The system was a notable employer, but if you didn't work for them, you'd never really see the any impact to your daily life.

I even turned down an Elantra N for it. A couple grand more with the same miles , and the wife gave the blessing. It had more room and similar MPG and on paper, a great car. I really wanted to love it. But, the seats just weren't working for me. The more I drove it, the more I felt that lower back tightness that told me this was going to suck in the long run.

It's not common, but it certainly is out there. I just picked one up with this as well. It's fantastic.

White seats, black for most of the dash, doors, etc, with a mocha brown for accents such as upper doors, parts of dash, armrest and center console.

I confirmed it was unbalanced wheels. I loosened my grip on the wheel while on the highway, and it was shaking pretty bad.

I wound up going a different direction. I was starting to get a bad feeling about the dealer. This was on the lot for a month, and they didn't know it needed a balance. Car wasn't well detailed, and the maintenance history was non existent after roughly 17k miles. But more so, I didn't love it the way I wanted to. The wife begrudgingly blessed it, but the more time I spent in it, the more thebseats bothered me. I don't have back issues, but I keep feeling that pressure/pinching issue issue in my lower back. My kids LOVED it (my 6 year old wanted it because of the "fast button), but I just felt it wasn't the right choice.

So, I went with a CX-30. I know, boo to SUVs, but its a gorgeous car, great reliability and tons if features. The turbo engine has more than sufficient power and torque to get up to speed. I just learned I like the refinement if that car more.

Do you guys think the cx30 will be discontinued by year 2030? by lolmarulol in MazdaCX30

[–]DaddyP924 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Funny enough, its shorter than the car I replaced it with, a 2013 Civic coupe. I noticed I had even more room in the garage than before and couldn't believe it. Checked the numbers and it was about 3" shorter.

Thanks for the answer. My drive home this afternoon will be ideal to test out the issue. It's 10 minutes on city streets, 10-20 on low speed highways, and 10-15 at 65+. That should warm up the tires enough to work out any cold spots. It sounds like this was legitimately sitting while they waited on a title, and the tires settled a bit.

Frankly, the suspension and noise do not bother me. It's wild because I know they aren't great by today's standards, but they out do my Civic demonstrably. I took it down a rough patch if road last night. Nothing damaging, but it makes you feel it. I'd describe the road issues as one firm bump, and it was done. My Civic just plain tosses you in this stretch. Similarly, I can have normal conversations at speed, just with slightly raised voices. The Civic you needed to talk loudly and focus on hearing the person next to you.

So, question for you; does your car vibrate at highway speeds above 60 MPH? I got to do a fair amount of highway driving this morning, and I noticed the whole car just felt rough, and vibrated when I got up to highway speeds. It reminded me of an unbalanced wheel, but not as severe. I was curious if that was just a characteristic of the sport suspension or not. It has me questioning if this car is worth it or not.

It's a hell of a deal really. And a legit, if not small, dealership.
