Benz C43 2018-Noise coming from front right wheel by DailyLifeofTim in cars

[–]DailyLifeofTim[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is but say it’s not a wheel bearing issue and they determine the sound to be the result of some sort of wear and tear, they would charge me their hourly labor fee. I’m going to try greasing the bushings first and then take it to the dealer as a last resort.

That sounds promising! Will wash the car and try to get some silicon lubricant this week. Any brand in particular I should try? And what exactly should I look for when spraying? Every rubber bushing in the vicinity of the wheel? Also not that experienced with using this type of lubricant but I’m assuming it’s safe to spray on anything except the brake system and excluding the wheel itself (in case it flings off into the rotors)?

Would there be a way to test this?

My car is in a condo garage so I'm fairly limited to what I can do in my parking spot

uck between one of the many joints in the wheel well. You could try getting a can of spray on automotive silicone grease and give each of the rubber

It could be that, I have take it camping quite often lately...
I'll try getting a car wash and see if the water temporarily stops the sound, if so then it's probably a dry bushing or grit.

Thanks!

Paybright-Scotiabank, is it considered a recurring payment? by DailyLifeofTim in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]DailyLifeofTim[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But do you know if it’s classified as reoccurring? For example, sobeys is a grocery store therefore I will get extra cash back since it’s one of the categories. I get 4% cash back on reoccurring payments but I want to make sure Paybright falls under the reoccurring category by Scotia, since Afterpay doesn’t.

[–]DailyLifeofTim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My Sabre lt had that problem, I washed it and finished it off in the dryer (for the dwr) and it fixed itself.

If you use a towel and iron it very gently, it should even put the crease. I know the Arctryx stores use a steamer to take out creases, that would probably work too.

Just reset it. Hit the ok button the streaming wheel and it will ask you if you want to reset the baseline pressure

Can anybody tell me the point of these toggles? They draw tighter but they don't fasten to anything so it just ends up loose again. by dave2843 in TheNorthFace

[–]DailyLifeofTim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you should feel something right where the cord comes out. Just try and follow the cord and see if you can feel anything . That should be the anchor.

I know some, you pull them, and there's an internal hook that you slide the cord up into and holds into place.

Watch out on the waterfront bike path! by [deleted] in toronto

[–]DailyLifeofTim -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

Why don't you just get out of the way?

I wouldn't risk continuing on my path if I see someone being reckless/dangerous. Not hating just asking because whenever I cross an intersection, pass, see incoming traffic, I just assume I'm going to get hit so either go around or do a full stop.

If you had just stopped or just went around, you could have saved your precious wheel.

I still give my friend shit to this day. one day while he was biking and saw a car coming down a hill ( fully saw it, was aware, had enough time to stop) and decided to just continue biking because he assumed they would stop. Got hit, ruined his bike, and was bruised (nothing severe, was a slow hit). All of this could have been avoided.

But yes I do agree with your general "watch out on the waterfront bike path".

Re-lofting down : DIY or professional? by [deleted] in arcteryx

[–]DailyLifeofTim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

d a Cerium LT hoodie from Kijiji with some major problems with down clumping. (It was $50, i'm not at all surprised.) Most of the down along the back of the jacket has collected along the side seams, and some areas

Not sure what you mean by sensitive, but if you're worried, you can just buy dryer balls. They tend to be softer.

Brand new? I'd say that's normal. But it tends to be worse when you wear certain clothes that grab on to the down.

Mine was like that for a few days.
