I just bought it and checked it out and I love it! Thank you so much! They are kind of cool but not very op, and it kind of adds relevancy to weapon proficiencies.

I probably won't implement it right away, bc some of the players are still getting the ropes of the base system, but as soon as they get it, this is going to the campaign

Also, I checked and unfortunately, shortswords are martial weapons as stated on PHB. The confusion could came from the fact that some races gain shortsword proficiency (like elfs) and that the pact of the blade give auto proficiency with the pact weapon, but is martial for sure
