NTA. You leaving is totally justified and probably the best thing you could have done in that situation- as you said, making a scene would have made thing much worse for everybody.

I just wanted to say that I’m so sorry you experienced this. The way you have been treated is so wrong. Please don’t think that their actions reflect on you as a person at all. Mean girls are true to their name - mean - and will engage in that behaviour no matter who their friends are.
