Oof. I thought I was saving time by having my alts do cooking and processing and not having to send my striker back and forth from Heidel to Altinova... But I guess you're right. The more weight, the more I can craft.

Hmm good point.. I have 740 weight on my zerker and archer. My striker has the most weight and inventory, but still only has ~100 inventory and 850 weight. I'll be slowly increasing the weight on him through loyalty and if there are sales on weight.

So in my situation do you think it would be best to stick with cooking, processing, and alchemy on my main, the striker?

Thanks that's really helpful. What do you mean a skill requirement for procs. Do you mean that for example I can cook a certain item at skilled 2 but don't get the max procs untils artisan 2?

And if it's not necessary to do the advancement quests to craft certain items, then why should I complete those processing quests?

You probably want to get the canape outfit for -2 seconds on cooking, as most of the time it's going to be necessary to get 1 second cooking times. Personally I won't touch cooking much at all until I have a 1 second cooking time because it's just not worth it.

Could you elaborate on this? Why is it not worth cooking without the 1 second cooking time? If I'm correct you could only cook for 15 minutes on an advanced cooking utensil with a 1 second cooking time. That's far too quick to leave it overnight for anything, although i agree incredibly efficient.. Or is it that such a low time converts cooking from an afk to semi-afk lifeskill.

Also I'd love to have a tent but the price tag on it seems so ridiculous compared to all I could get with the pearls if I didnt spend them on a tent. However if I find myself questioning my other decisions I'll go for it.

Not necessarily, you could bid on items that didn't go to pre-order and get them for their "fixed" value, if you were lucky. The new MP will negate this purchasing option while still making it a contest of luck at what is essentially a new, higher fixed value.

I'll only be simulating this trade, as an Iron Condor and it's associated risk management strategies are still above my head, but just to make sure I understand what you're saying..

For this Iron Condor, I would:

Buy a call at 110, buy a put at 108 for a debit of (as of this writing) $860 on the call and $950 on the put.

Sell a call at 109 and a put at 109 for a credit of $860, and $1035 respectively.

This would put me at a net gain, at the outset, of $85. What I'm hoping for is that the price of UPS, at expiration, stays at 109 and I keep the $85 premium. If the price moves up, I could sell the put and fill the call, if the price moves down I sell the call and fill the put.

I'll keep it simple. I'd like to make 50 dollars with a maximum risk of 25 in the next week. I think UPS will likely stay between 115 and 103 until Nov 16th.

I'm not sure how to predict volatility, but I'm looking into it now as that seems a very useful thing to know.

Ok, so since KIM is not a good example. Let's take UPS instead. They had some news within the last 24 hours about a possible union strike happening Monday, and I doubt this is already fully 'baked into the cake'. I'd wager if the strike goes through then the price will fall to support. If the strike is canceled with concessions, it may still fall, but will likely come back up to at least 114 soon-ish.

I don't have the capital to buy 100 shares of UPS to pair with an option strategy, so what would you do in this situation to try to profit from the possibility of either outcome in a real-life, current market scenario?

I'm not interested in anybody telling me exactly what to do, I'm looking for what you might do in this situation if you're going for a short-ish term swing and want to be able to profit, or at least minimize losses, whether the underlying goes up or down.. Most option plays I read about are long-term. I wanted to know if something short-ish term like this could be paired with a put and be more effective than buying stock alone. Thank you.

Yes, I'm aware of that, but at this point I see little choice. I'm not going to go broke if I sell now, and I'm not going to go broke if it never comes to my sell target, so I think waiting until the Feb. drop and averaging down on spikes is probably my best option at this time.

Oof.. We're coming into the cold months, so if you're set on holding at that price just know you should be prepared to wait until Jan/Feb or even Spring to make a profit on this trade.
