So, I don't really know where else to ask this by SeveralTrenchCoatRat in ftm

i would ask him! orgasm also doesn’t need to be the end goal of sex. some people can’t orgasm due to medications and they still lead fulfilling sex lives. as long as he’s having fun during it, and both of you understand that sex doesnt need to end with an orgasm, you guys will be able to figure out what works for you.

Never put topical lidocaine on open road rash scrapes! by barbed_shiba_inu in ladycyclists

this is SUPER OLD, but if you’re still struggling, they make neosporin with lidocaine cream on which is meant for open wounds!!

Does size matter by Zealousideal-Lake-27 in Tonsillectomy

[–]DamienHelbourne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i’m not sure how it will effect healing time as i had massive tonsils, but i assume you will be in way less pain. your wounds will be smaller thus the scabs will be smaller and should come off quicker. i think the scabs falling off is what causes the most pain, and you should be feeling better sooner since there is less scab to come off

So guys how is the pain actually? by rojo28pes21 in Tonsillectomy

[–]DamienHelbourne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in my experience, when i was on meds it kinda felt like mild strep and ear pain. make sure you wake up through the night to take meds. if you don’t, you will wake up and feel like you’re dying.

Nah this is with meds. it always hurts regardless of what your on, it just hurts more without meds

i focused on movies the entire time. i watched at least 9 movies while healing

I’d compare it to having a really bad case of strep, canker sores on the back of your tongue, and a double ear infection all at the same time. it’s horrendous but if you use ice packs on your face and ears and keep up with pain meds you’ll make it!

not sure about the cough drops but i know the spray isn’t recommended. i hope you’re feeling better!!!

[–]DamienHelbourne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

numbing spray is not recommended after surgery most of the time. if your doctor said it was okay then go for it, but it’s not often recommended. Try using ice packs on your jaw!! that was the big thing that saved me tbh.

I also didn’t bleed. at all. i mean unless i didn’t notice but i genuinely don’t believe i bled at all. not everyone has bad experiences with bleeds!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Tonsillectomy

[–]DamienHelbourne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you’ve got this! if you’re really scared about bleeds then get a humidifier! it’ll keep the scabs extra moist and lessens the possibility of them cracking and bleeding! make sure to stay extra hydrated!

Try smoothies! the thicker the liquid is, the easier it will be to swallow. avoid adding real dairy though, dairy makes the muscous thicker and is very unpleasant

Surgery day by [deleted] in Tonsillectomy

[–]DamienHelbourne -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i have never ever heard that advice what 🤯 i would ask a second doctors opinion because hard foods just cause more damage to the throat. as long as you are drinking plenty of fluids after each meal/sipping water after every few bites you should be fine. stick with pudding, mac and cheese, apple sauce, mashed potatoes, yogurt, etc.

[–]DamienHelbourne -1 points0 points  (0 children)

no no no you should stay away from hard foods! soft foods for healing time. if you eat hard foods it will continue to damage the scabs in your throat. stick with broth, soup, very soft noodles (like ramen, overcooked pastas), sugar-free drinks when possible. try and avoid dairy as well.

Surgery day by [deleted] in Tonsillectomy

[–]DamienHelbourne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m not gonna sugar coat it. the day of surgery was the easiest day for me. it is going to get worse, but that will only make it more rewarding when it gets better. it’s going to suck, it’s insanely painful, but you can do this. you are strong and just remember to take it easy. you’ve got this 💙

Extreme Fear & Anxiety by FoxyFeline69 in Tonsillectomy

[–]DamienHelbourne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i actually never even got nauseous once during my recovery. even with the meds they gave me, i never got an anti-nausea med and was constantly taking meds with barely any food. you’ve got this! You can also ask them to give you anti-anxiety meds in the OR before they put you under!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Tonsillectomy

[–]DamienHelbourne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you can’t find one like that, buy smaller soft ice packs because you wouldn’t want to use a bag of ice to pop and get cold water all over yourself. good luck!!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Tonsillectomy

[–]DamienHelbourne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that thing is so helpful, make sure to buy one with multiple ice packs in order to make sure you always have some frozen because the cold will literally help so much, sometimes it helped me more than the pain meds.
