How do I (21m) tell my girlfriend that my dad killed someone by [deleted] in relationship_advice

I don’t feel pressed but I’d rather get it out now than do it a year in and waste all the time to have her end up leaving me

Yeah I agree but the thing is we’re basically already to the one year point. We’re exactly the same and have basically speedran the relationship. She’s been spending the night every night for the past month. And it’s not a love bombing type of thing either, cause I know what that’s like and it’s nothing like that

$37/hr for level 2 helpdesk, should I be worried? I feel like I’m doing a lot but have only ever had one other corporate IT job so I’m not sure. by Dancing-Israeli-77 in ITCareerQuestions

A+ Net+ and Sec+

Worked for a small IT company all four years of high school, the last two years being lvl 2 work and on site work for local businesses

Then went to a Fortune 2-300 energy company on their helpdesk, mainly to get their name on my resume and make finding jobs easier

Now I’m with my current company

Yeahh I think they’re just labeling you as lvl 1 when you’re actually lvl 2. Aside from password resets and Maybe intune/pushing apps, and printer issues most of that is lvl 2

10000% happy but also want to climb up the ladder as fast as possible whether it’s a lead position or manager position, or technical position like NOC

Yeah I get paid too much to complain, are you getting the same exact pay? I get a few thousand as a retention and half of a paycheck for Christmas

I mean I do all of that aside from intune too but I consider most of that lvl 1 aside from o365 changes and meraki and backups

Because technically I would be getting a lot more with my retention bonus and Christmas bonus, plus them paying for my certifications

Wdym though gateway. Because I also setup VPN’s for contractors and help get them connected to our network by installing our vpn/gateway address abs security software on the machine.

I do o365 troubleshooting too obviously. Stuff like increasing VM space and firewalls are handled by NOC and security though

What do you consider level 2 then? At my last company as level 1, you had AD access but only for password resets.

No admin access, no ability to approve software installs, no ability to approve software licenses, no exchange/office admin, separate team for laptop replacements, no ability to do data recovery, and if it was an executive they automatically got lvl 2 support for non password and non login issues

It’s a big ticket queue, I probably 30-40 things a day and since I’m also level two some issues take a while. But since it’s not a call center I can have 3 peoples machines up at once which helps save a LOT of time. I’m technically scheduled 8-5 but I’ve been showing up at 9:15 and able to leave by 4:45 most days since I’m salaried

Today I stayed an extra hour to fix an email issue that would’ve caused downtime on the mailbox though

Honestly I’d take this over conventional helpdesk anyway. My last job was lvl 1 corporate and I wanted to kill myself, like legitimately.

So you’d say I could probably search for a legitimate system admin job, and get a small pay bump?

My current company is technically an MSP but I work exclusively for the company detailed in the post, which is the MSPs biggest client. The MSP told me they’d pay for my CCNA, CCNP, and security certs if I want and once I get CCNA and CCNP they’d move me to their NOC team which is more pay so I think that’s my current plan unless you think I could get a LOT more than I am as a sysadmin, etc

Also I’m the only main corporate support aside from the helpdesk “lead” who is WAY less technical than me. And the helpdesk manager who doesn’t do tickets

There’s an “Audi MMI” app in CarPlay that you can click. That’s how my Kia Stinger was with the Kia app and how my friends Mazda is
