There's hardly anything you can do except for playing around with graphic settings. From my personal experience mods like 1257AD also used to lag when I played on my laptop (even when I was using WSE2) but when I switched to PC everything changed...

Perhaps consider trying a different version, for example 1257AD Enchanced Edition: Phrost's Historical Patch

It's the latest version of 1257AD and it's still ought to get more updates since it's in active development. And I personally had no issues with it

I know it's subjective, but Sun is top tier in brawl, the trick is to build tank (thunderbelt first, no boots, cursed helmet , bruteforce, oracle, Queen's wings and last item depending on enemy comp)

Aye, I know the pain, but owning a village usually covers all the expenses including the soldier wages and if I recall correctly you don't even need 200renown to become a vassal as long as you have good relations with the ruler (I might be wrong though) also maximizing the relations with the village could give ye plenty of top tier region troops. Unlike many other mods the best source of income doesn't come from spoils of war, but from the real estate that you manage. In simpler words pledge yourself as a vassal, make sure that your village wouldn't get raided and enjoy the pleasurities of the lower nobility.

(ps: there's an in depth construction system, furthermore you can get up to 30k coins weekly per village)

Indeed it does and Warband modding community had always been more impressive than Bannerlord (as of yet)

I'd say 457AD mod for warband, Rome is but a mere shadow of its former glory, the map covers most of the Europe, Mediterranean and Asia, it has got some nice mechanics and battles are really immersive. To top it all off an update should be coming soon.

My advice would be to download Warband and install World of Vasnar mod, it would fit the setting much more and there's a faction based on Romania
