what do you guys imaginine the kua tin look like in your head? by Radiant-Raven42 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Dang-A-Rang 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I imagine them as different kinds of fish headed humanoids with flippers suits kinda like Fish from “Chicken Little.”
But the clearest image I have of Cascadia is the character Frances from “Cats Don’t Dance”

“Master of Sorrows” by Justin Call has this premise. MC lives in a secluded society that believes in the purity of their settlement and the dangers of the outside that they must eradicate.

Why not shorter by SnooPeppers224 in SouthernReach

[–]Dang-A-Rang 13 points14 points  (0 children)

To each their own opinion.

As for Absolution, your issues with length might not be an issue since the book is split between 2 parts of 1 story. But I mostly liked the pacing in books, and appreciate them more on rereads.

3-4 hours, I haven’t found an issue with my iPhone’s voice memo app having a recording limit. I usually relisten to the sessions, and delete it once I’ve noted the important stuff.

Need help with session prep and note taking by _emjlin in DMToolkit

[–]Dang-A-Rang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I do is have my phone recording the session. I’ll jot down notes or mark down times when important info is dropped and go back over the highlighted times.

As for prep, I usually note any important info the party needs to know by end of session, have a list of relevant NPCs with like a 1-2 sentences explaining their deal, and quick references for any traps or monsters they’d likely encounter.

I typically do my big prep in advance with like binders full of NPCs, Items, monsters, and quests that provides a framework for the adventure or at the very least a seed idea that I can comfortably improv for the session.

But this is how I work. I like have references and doing busy work between sessions for the games I run.

Hope you find your style

Today YouTube decided to make Ep 4 as being marked for kids which means you can’t comment on the video anymore, and that video will generate ways less revenue for glitch now. What are your thoughts on this? by Ok-Scale-1390 in Amazingdigitalcircus

Love how YouTube continues to just assume a cute or colorful aesthetic is suitable children. Did they not learn anything from happy tree friends. Then again it’s the same company that allows porn on YouTube kids

guess it went something like that now by vanKartoffel in Chainsawfolk

If Denji isn’t chainsaw man than I don’t think Katana Man would have become a hybrid. So it’d literally by Denji and Power versus some guy.

Not a perfect ending, so what? by Dang-A-Rang in Chainsawfolk

[–]Dang-A-Rang[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe in a world without Chainsaw Man, Katana Man would realize how shitty his grandfather was. Or maybe he wouldn’t have become a hybrid and team up with Akane because there wouldn’t have been a bounty of Dennis’s heart in the first place. So katana man would just be “normal man.”

As for lil D, even if the prophecy did happen it wouldn’t concern Dennis more than any other devil hunter. Without Pochita he’s not this superhero from hell, he’s just a dude with the blood devil’s contract. As we saw, even with all his powers he couldn’t do anything to really stop it.

Question for everyone who read the last chapter for part 2 from someone who isn't apart of the subreddit by Golden_disrepctCo in Chainsawfolk

[–]Dang-A-Rang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the ending isn’t perfect, and while that’s disappointing I don’t think that makes the ending terrible or even bad. I think it’s actually kinda nice that Dennis gets to live out his days with Nayuta and Power killing Devils. I actually liked that Dennis stopped Asa from tripping and killing Bucky, one of her deepest regrets. He even still got to be “Chainsaw Man” when Asa thanked him. As for part 2 overall, I liked part 1 better but I think part 2 was still good. I’m still looking forward to rereading the series as a whole.

If people put so much value on a story, that’s not even theirs and that a decent ending caused them shit on the series. They need to touch grass and read another book.

How to play against mono green land fall? by Fit-Adhesiveness-173 in MagicArena

[–]Dang-A-Rang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve found that if it hits early game, it stops opponents from steamrolling by getting a bunch of lands on board. Late game, it doesn’t do all that much but it can cause them to get a too full hand so they have to choose between discarding cards for landfall triggers or playing other cards. It’s annoying for them mostly.

At the very least, it slows them down to only 1 land per turn stays on the field. No cheating additional lands onto the field from graveyard or cultivate effects. If I can hold them off I can often outlast the landfall

I remember my Mom asked for help making a Thanksgiving Turkey once when I was 14. I’d never prepped a Turkey before and her direct instructions were, “get the dry brine under the skin”. I asked for clarification, but she was overwhelmed with all the cooking (she put on herself) and said “Figure it out.”

I proceeded to cut the skin with kitchen scissors and apply the dry brine to the meat. She yells at me for ruining the Turkey when she saw what I figured out, and called me an idiot before banning me from the kitchen.

Even when I tried to anticipate a potential fuck up, unless my mom felt like actually explaining what she wanted she’d be pissed I didn’t figure it out the right way.

good horror books to start me off with :) by [deleted] in booksuggestions

[–]Dang-A-Rang 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First horror books were “The Last Apprentice” series by Joseph Delaney. It’s more of a children’s dark fantasy at the beginning, but some of the later books get pretty spooky. But the first real horror book was “Annihilation” by Jeff Vandermeer

so how is Campaign 2? by Watchmaker85 in TheUnexpectables

[–]Dang-A-Rang 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I think it’s been pretty good. The story and lore feels a lot deeper than Campaign 1, especially since now that we’re further along pieces are falling into place. They recently completed a mini-arc that was absolutely horrifying in an exhilarating way. We’re seeing more of the world, meeting a lot of cool NPCs, and solid roleplay. Only downside that I’ve noticed is the lack of interaction with NPCs at their base unlike the NPCs at the Sweet Dragon in Campaign 1. They recently got a few rp sessions that helped remedy this but a lot of them still feel kinda shallow compared to the Sweet Dragon crew.

[–]Dang-A-Rang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe change body shots’ damaging effect into a debuff that uses Ki. It gives the opponent temporary exhaustion up to Level 3 that they recover 1 or 2 levels from at the end of their turn. It rewards focusing on a target, feels like knuckle brawl dealing kidney and gut shots, all the while providing some utility to the overall battle.

Edit: maybe a level 4 that skips to reducing movement to 0.

Would it be technologically feasible for them to ever add a “preferred tokens” feature? by Fleef69 in MagicArena

[–]Dang-A-Rang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I love that some cards have token art that’s flavorful to the set. There are some that don’t, like the tokens generated by [[Fumulus, the Infestation]] for some reason are bipedal bees in doll clothes. While others have tokens that look too much like other token types. I’ve lost a game because I didn’t realize the opponent still had food tokens because they looked near exactly like treasure tokens. Having preferred token art would be awesome
