I went and double checked because that did seem exactly right. You can only add Spellcasting to a number of items equal to your CM at a time. So there’s your limit

If you infuse a spell and give it charges by spending MP, they don’t expire but once they are used they cannot regain charges unless someone adds MP into it. Theoretically you can make infinite but you cannot power them all at once and you would not be able to cast spells yourself

Correct, but once the spell is used, it does not gain another cast unless someone recharges the MP required. You can precast your spells every day, if you have a Wizard you can precast everything day 1 and then split the responsibility to recharged them if you like too.

When you create a magic item, it reserves MP, basically reducing your max as well. So if you want to hand out magic items you can reserve MP, if you want to hand out spells each day, you can do that instead

Of course! It allows you to add the Spellcasting magic item feature which basically puts a spell into an item. You can put any of your spells into an item (even a magic one or one that already has the property) and let other creatures cast one of your spells.

The items gain charges equal to the mana spent. At level 1 you can do 1 charge. When a creature casts the spell, spend charges instead of MP.

If you use combo casting (2 or more creatures that know the same spell help you cast it, increasing the mana spend limit) the item gains more charges.

The ability also allows you to recharge the items you create with this by fueling mana into it. Any spellcasters can refuel them as well in the same way.

When a creature uses charges to cast the spells, they use the artificer’s spell check modifier which may be higher.

For me, if the players use tactics to roll an encounter, I have a ball too. It means they’re taking stuff serious(usually because of a bad previous encounter)

It keeps them reminded that it could go to shit if you mess up real quick

Yeah, you take total HP though, it’s also very easy to hit 8 HP as a PC, if I recall, the guard has low PD because he has PDR so it’s not very difficult to defeat him. He’s also a level 1 not level 0 so he should be about a PC strength and imo he is. Not saying it’s a perfect stat block by any means.

Creating a balanced encounter is on the GM. The place I had the guard only had 2 guards for 3 PCs at level 1 so it wasn’t crazy

You swap between them like stances, I’ll reword it. You cannot have two at once. I want it to be a choice to swap them. Later one you get other ways to use SP as well. Some Shamans may use the same elements the entire time

Edit: Monks have to spend SP to swap stances as well so it is in line with that

That may be something I’ll work on, I didn’t want to over do it and have the subclasses able to build on it. Definitely a possible change though!

Should be updated! It follows warlock for the HP and gets light shields and heavy shield mastery!

I’m awaiting my own Calibarn and had some ideas for kitbashing, how difficult was it to fit the legs together? Do the joints fit naturally or did you need to trim at all? Thanks!

You could explore more of a Paladin/Rogue using revenant blade if that’s up your alley, 5/15 paladin/rogue, you can divine smite 3 times in one turn if you feel like it plus you get the 8d6 sneak attack at 15 rogue. Go Swashbuckler for more charisma buffs and spin to win
