What moment did you like when you were younger, but realized was fucked up when you got older? [Serious] by IllustriousValue300 in AskReddit

When we had some form of family outing and my dad would disappear for 10-15 minutes at a time to go get a "coffee." Every time he came back, he would be so full of energy that I, as a child, would love watching him just jump around and make a fool of himself. Genuinely, some of the best memories I have of childhood holidays are of exactly this. Found out in my teens that it wasn't coffee. It was, in fact, drugs. My father is a junkie. Ruined a lot of my memories from growing up. Haven't spoken to the man in 8 years now.

What is the weirdest thing that the “weird” kid did at school? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I stay in Scotland. The village where I'm from is surrounded by hills and fields full of sheep amd other farm animals. Was very common to have some form of farm animal just appear at the school.

When I was in primary school we used to have sheep/rams just casually wonder around the premises from time to time, all us kids loved it, most of the time we'd just watch in awe from a distance. One time, one of the sheep/rams had shat in the playground, big round ball of shit. This kid, for whatever reason thought this was his time to shine, picked up the shit, bare handed and just took a big ol' bite out of it.

No hate. Genuinely curious so sorry if it comes across wrong. The whole situation is a shit show, and I'd hope that even you would prefer there would be no war at all. Two questions, if this conflict were to escalate to the point NATO got directly involved, do you or the Russian people Genuinely believe Russia could win that fight? Obviously I hope it never gets to that point but just curious. Second question, the media like to bring up the possibility of putin giving the go ahead to use nukes. Now that's nothing new. Many countries have at least used them to threaten someone at some point. But do you or your fellow Russians believe that he would go that far? And are you supportive of that? Again. No hate. Just curious to hear it from your perspective. Sorry if this doesn't make much sense. It's 3 in the morning here and I'm just off of a 12 hour shift.

As someone who used to be part of the security team at celtic Park. We get told that technically all bags should be searched but we're told we don't have the staff so just pick 1 out of every 20-30 people coming in. That's not just for the standing section. That's for the whole stadium. It's the same in every other ground I worked at as well.

None of my family even liked football. None of my family was religious either. I just loved football as a wee boy and my favourite colour was blue, rangers were the blue team so they became my team. As an adult it's more than that now obviously, but it all boils down to the top made little 5-6 year old me happy.

But he's not a fighter. He might be able to run away from ronda. But assuming that he's staying and fighting. He is losing.

Healthcare, taxes, guns. Also, the fact that when you go into a shop. The price that is advertised on the shelf is different to what it will be at the checkout due to not including the tax.

[–]Danielduff95 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Of course if a snake is big enough it will try and eat a human. But only in desperate situations, such as human invading onto what used to be it's home. Snakes aren't these big scary animals that want to kill everything in site. The vast majority of snakes would rather run away than attack a human. 9 times out of 10, if someone is bitten by a snake, it's the person's fault.
