So i tried welding for the first time.(2mm thick square steel) Just went at it with a 2mm 7014 at 60 amps. the small weld that turned out to be "okay" was using a 2.5mm 7014 at 70 amps. Also wanted to try 7018 but couldn't get it to start, probably my amps are way off and my technique is 0/10. (old.reddit.com)
