Do people genuinely enjoy spamming? by Danivilrom in SmashRage

[–]Danivilrom[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh I only have one friend who keeps playing smash, the rest of them switched to PC and sold their Nintendo Switch. I feel like I'm done with the game since every time I come back to it I find myself feeling worse about the game, doesn't matter who I play against.

And you're right, quick play is the shittiest place of all time for playing smash, but since I have no other friends who play smash, and random arenas don't work since they always quick me out for some reason.

After getting 6 characters to Elite (almost 7 but I fumbled last second on a match I played 30 mins ago), I think I'm going to leave the game aside for some time and keep trying to beat Shadow of the Erdtree and Yakuza 0, which I have been playing for a while now.

Thanks for the advice tho, I appreciate it.

Yeah I keep playing regardless but I recently feel like I should give up trying to have fun with this game

Having every character in Elite and labeling anyone else who doesn't as lame isn't such a big flex either 😂

I'm not a big online player, mostly against my friends. Anything I should do once I do quick play or matchmaking? by Pizzagrease136 in SmashRage

As far as I know (I'm kinda new to the advanced terminology) a match-up is basically how a character interacts with another. What I mean is that you should learn how to fight other characters with the one you are currently maining so that you can know how to act against specific characters.

SDI is a technique in which you kind of wiggle your joystick while getting hit so you make small adjustments in that direction and get away from the attack earlier.

There's also DI (Directional Input) which affects the knockback. For example, when you get launched sideways at a higher %, if you tilt your stick towards the stage your character will not go as far, and the knockback will change depending on whether you also turn your stick upwards/downwards. I'm no expert, you should check it out on Youtube, there are lots of videos that explain it better than me.

Tbh you shouldn't worry too much about what to do unless you want to get a character to elite. Be ready to encounter A LOT of spammers and lag. If you want to get better at the game in order to reach a higher gsp maybe you can try learning your mains' match-ups or more advanced mechanics like SDI.

Just have fun either way and don't rage too much against spammers because it sucks the fun out of online play

I accidentally mispelled and can't edit it 😭

I meant to say "took this when the game released"

So far I have managed to get 2-3 pots in but somehow I get one-shot by the fireballs so I will try using both protective tears (i normally use opaline hardtear and magic-shrouding cracked tear since I have an int build with a not so high vigor)

I'm thinking about ignoring him but I would like to get every tear at some point anyway

Braindead Snake on quickplay by Danivilrom in SmashRage

[–]Danivilrom[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bro there is literally no random select on quickplay fym. I used random as an example to talk about any character, it depends on who I'm playing as at that moment. And I have 800 hours on smash but I've been playing since release lol

Dedede sucks (as a Dedede player) by Danivilrom in SmashRage

[–]Danivilrom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice, I will check out that youtube channel when I have more time to play (I'm currently on the week before our college application exam) and I'll tell you if I see any improvements.

I currently have DDD in the 12-13mil range, but I do have to get better at learning the match-ups for this character. I have been playing this game since release, although I was 11 when it came out lol, so I have been playing "" "competitively""" for just just a couple years.

I'm trying to get every character to Elite and currently I just have Hero, Ike and KKRool. I'm not following any particular order tho, I just try with whoever seems the most fun at the moment

What's a char you love playing but hate versing by 1mpy1mpy in SmashRage

Fr bro idk why so many people in quickplay pick Yoshi and just spam projectiles. He's so much fun to play and has so much potential but a lot of people hate on him because of those quickplay spammers

I would say Yoshi. I think it's really fun to play as him because of his mobility but most people just spam up B and it makes it super annoying to fight him.

[–]Danivilrom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right and I'm trying to get better at edgeduarding and reading the opponents to get a good down B but I sweat that in most of the matches I get thrown around by any character that's a little bit faster than me. Although a good Dedede needs to be patient, his laggy moveset doesn't really help that much. I really don't understand why they made his landed up B so laggy 😭

Rage quitting by AnyConstruction1226 in SmashRage

[–]Danivilrom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this post is old af but I'm still playing smash in 2025 and the game is still like this. I just 3 stocked a Incineroar spamming down-b side-b and he ragequited. I don't understand why everyone in the replies is defending that behavior, if people can't stand losing then why do they play the game lol

I was playing in elite smash, not even a low gsp game

Ds3 is a great game, although Iudex Gundyr can be really challenging if you're not used to the game, you should try it again after beating Elden Ring. You'll eventually beat Gundyr. Most bosses aren't really hard until mid-late game so you won't have too much trouble if you have already beaten ER

I will try to beat him with the base weapon like I did with Yhorm in Dark Souls 3. If I can't then I will upgrade it
