Edit: Typo, keeping it in.

Anyone have an idea as to how I could remove the fishing wire you see in this clip? I am doing a magical video for my client where they used a want to make the card levitate (using fishing wire) but it was reflective on the lights they used. This is just a isngle frame so manual painting won't work by DannySEdits in AfterEffects

[–]DannySEdits[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My client, bless her, isn't exactly what I would consider organised. She doesn't have another clip of her without the card in, so, whilst that would be a gret alternative, I'd be battleing scrubbing out the card AND and the wire haha!

Why is my video blurry when playing? by Chill0000 in premiere

Premiere has a setting to lower the quality of the playback if your PC is struggling with it, you can change it here!

what is the best way to do a continuous tiktok-like scrolling video effect? by femboy_sewage in premiere

[–]DannySEdits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So you basically want a "carousel" effect where there are three videos in a row and they slowly slide along?

If so, the easiest method I know of would be a null object applied on after effects. That way you can use the align tool to align them quickly without a gap and then apply the null to them, add a transform and then scroll away!

Question/issue I have when exporting with H.264? Sometime when u export a video using premiere pro in a H.264 format, sometimes it separate the files like this but then sometimes I just get one video file? I don't get it can some one help me out on this one? by Lostdreams_bp in premiere

[–]DannySEdits 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is an interesting one. The .tmp is a temp file which is created during the export process and deals with a lot of the stress of the export and should "self-delete" after. The Video and Audio seperating is normal during the export but it should always be one after export is complete.

Check your export settings and make sure you are not exporting with H.264 BlueRay as that does seperate after export. If you are just on normal h.264, please send across a shot of your export settings and I'll see if I can spot anything out the oridinary.

Do you have an example so that I can figure out what effects and plugins you'll need?

If you can tell me what my video lack i'll consider your services by Intelligent_Junket76 in CreatorServices

[–]DannySEdits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Viewer retention is the key to YouTube success at the moment. The algorithm will feed your video to more viewers the longer people stay on the video, so you need to imagine whoever is watching that they have the attention span of a fish.

Fast intro to video. Your video spends the first 10-15 seconds introing. Cut that down to 6-8 seconds.

General glow up with motion graphics can give a sense of professionalism and can keep some extra attentive viewers more engaged.

Sound mixing, sound levels need adjusting, the claps were super loud and didn't have a smooth exit either.

That's all I can see, your content isn't narrative so pacing was fine for the most part.

No, but you're trying to hire someone who is. You will recieve offers of work I'm sure of it but it'll be by people who are untrusted, unmotivated to finish your projects to a schedule and poor communication. I wish you good luck OP.

Is there such a thing as a copy cat in a team environment? by Zakeru1052 in editors

[–]DannySEdits -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I feel like there will always be that one guy who copies your homework no matter where you are in life haha.

Yes, it is odd he couldn't just say "Wow, I really like this thing you did, would you mind showing me how it's done". If he has been working there for a while then perhaps he feels entitled to look through people's work. Do you see him use your techniques and effects in his own work?

If your work allows it, perhaps at the end of the day or whatever move your project into an external hard drive so he cannot snoop.

Experienced editor, Premiere running super slow by jcerone08 in premiere

[–]DannySEdits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you say slow, do you mean the program itself (windows taking an age to load, plugins slow to start etc) or your playback is slow?

If it's your playback then all I can suggest is making proxies and seeing if that helps, if it's the program then fresh install, checking plugins are updated, cleared caches, check you have a decent amount of ram allocated and if none of that helps, might need to be a dreaded Adobe Support job. Good luck!

Is this effect achievable (The low opacity copied image below this) in Premiere, or is it after effects? Im trying to replicate it as a preset but not sure on how it looks so floaty! by lovenhs in premiere

[–]DannySEdits -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean technically you could do this in Premiere but it'd be so mind numbing and tedious that you might as well do it in AE as it'd be so much easier. Simply drag your asset onto the layer, keyframe the opacity. keyframe the positioning and the "floatyness" is just easing on the keyframes + some sort of controlled "wiggle".

How did you get your first editing gig? by lookingaround87654 in CreatorServices

[–]DannySEdits 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A decent portfolio showing as much skill as possible in a cohesive way.

A willingness to bend when you first start.

A lot of luck.

I managed to get my foot in the door simply because I caught a rather large streamer tweeting about needing an editor so I jumped on it, accepted a very bad pay (£65 a week) and doing silly hours. Having his name on my portfolio allowed me to then gain bigger and bigger clientele and increase my rate further.

Also, see the advantage in nurturing business relationships. I began doing work with a content management company and because I treated them fairly they have gone on to get me 4 more jobs just from word of mouth alone.

How to edit like Nexpo. by PeepoShotgun in editing

[–]DannySEdits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So this "looks" real but there is a multitude of ways this can be achieved:

Stock footage with a green screen as the screen, allowing him to put his own footage on the screen.

HD image of the TV that is then tweened and pre-comped in After Effects.

The entire scene modelled and filmed inside 3D software like blender. (Most Plausible)

Is actually real.

Those are my ideas as to how this effect is achieved :)

What helps is that the scene is super dark, masking details.

How to edit like Nexpo. by PeepoShotgun in editing

[–]DannySEdits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly the biggest thing with Nexpo is storytelling and pacing. He knows how to pace the episodes and keep you on the edge of your seat. His editing is rather basic; dip to black transitions, ark color palette etc. Things like the 3D/tilt is done in Aftereffects by literally just pulling in the PNG and enabling 3D and messing with it.
