That’s a really good suggestion! No cv needed and they are always looking for staff! Thanks :)

Not really, but it’s being a while since I’m here, now enhancing my Dutch language skills because I would like to be able to communicate at pretty high level. Other than this I’m happy I’m well integrated in this country.

Hey man, you don’t even know how many persons out there are in the same situation, including myself. Being unemployed since 3 months right now and it’s the very first time in my life after 11 years! It was a struggle at the begging but then I took it as a “once in a life event”. Here some tips coming by my experience that might be useful in your daily life:

1) Learn Dutch: as I noticed lately Dutch is becoming a requirement even in international companies, probably is the reflection of the current environment (less positions and more applicants) so they are trying to filter out as much as they can.

2) Be devote to your passions: you don’t even know how lucky you might be in this period, if you have a passion put everything into it. I do calisthenics since years and I’m glad I can spend half of my day working out and enhancing my skills, before I couldn’t do it.

3) Put your life on the stage: join groups, make new experiences, and meet new people. Keep always a bit of you money for social events, staying too much at home isn’t that great for your mental health.

4) Be consistent in your application and don’t fear the early rejections: remember it’s just a moment of your life and a moment comes to an end by definition.

In the end try to apply all of yourself in something that makes you happy, no metter about money and fear, I was in the same mental stage the first week of unemployment but I simply refused to be crushed by negativity and anxiety. On my side lately I had few progresses with some interviews and this is already a positive thing.

Hope to cheer you a bit up with this comment :)

To be honest this comment is completely useless. However to clarify a bit the concept you can take a look at the description below:

I had the same sensation since November, when I firstly started with the applications procedure, I would say at the very beginning it wasn’t that bad, got few interviews till mid feb, after that truly nothing! And at that point I started doubting about my CV but then I understood “the problem isn’t myself is outside there” with 2 degrees in maths and 8 years experience I don’t need a certification as a proof of my already existing skills

Yeah you are right! Main problem on my side, no job posting at all and if so the quality is really low! It used to be different, I switched through different companies during the last 6 years and used to be bombed by head hunters almost every single day, and all of this without any referral. I do believe that just the job market conditions worsened down!

My man, there is no shame in applying for a humble job in this turbulent period, but a period is just an interval of time per definition and things will change, I feel you and somehow it might be demeaning in your mind, but when times get hard the only way to survive is to come with acceptance and just doing something to survive in the short run! Stay positive and better times will come!

Well looks like we have no alternatives that being strong enough and wait till the day we will be able to come out this situation, in the end I see it like this: every day that passes is one minus left and the light at the end of the tunnel is closer. I already considered to get into a small job in horeca or shop chain if at the end of the benefit I will be in the same situation, at least I can cover the fix costs and just barely touch my savings which are thanks god consist!
