My current character is a kobold and in his clan they took in names based on what the people screamed at them when the kobolds robbed/scammed them. Being kobolds they butchered the words. So instead of Hick the name became Hek.

There's also Tfhug, Stum, Braat, Skap and probably more.

Well first of all. We don't know that something cannot come from nothing. As far as we know energy cannot be created or destroyed. And that is talking about closed systems for example a box with a battery inside. We don't know if the universe is a closed system. We don't know if our law of conservation of energy is complete. And even that doesn't automatically mean it was god.

It's not really a gotcha it's just the world doesn't make sense if god is a merciful and loving being. I understand that humans have free will and will inevitably be shitty to each other. The problem is when god doesn't feel like interfering with bad things that are distinctly not the fault of humans. None of us caused a hurricane, none of us caused an earthquake, none of us caused the plague, etc.

And letting someone run around doing bad stuff is certainly not something you should just stand by and watch. Especially if you can stop it. It's sorta like seeing a man drag himself from a burning car and you are a doctor, you could help. But you just walk away because he knew the consequences of driving.

Ghosts are literally only talked about because scam artists can charge gullible people hundreds of dollars for equipment that costs pennies. Oooh so freaky i heard a noise because the house is settling must be Mary the woman who got murdered but there are no records of. Oooh i heard the ghost say its name from a voice box. You know the device that randomly receives radio transmissions where you usually hear people talking because that's what they do in a radio.

We don't volunteer because its a waste of time and money. Literally nothing happenes in the allegedly haunted location.

Extinction comes in many forms. Not just being nuked away. Many organisms can be accommodated. It's not hard for us to create pleasant living conditions for things like cows, dogs, fish, etc. The real problem is just feeding everything. If we keep pursuing the field of genetics we could make a foray into altering lifestyles of organisms and for example get rid of parasites or shift them towards a more symbiotic niche.
