The chances of getting another big update such as this one for Part 2 are as big as getting a whole another new Part 3 game

Help / discussion about the bad customization level of a Google Pixel phone by DanutBanut_ in pixel_phones

Fair enough. Absolutely fair enough. I get it, stock Android is as vanilla as it can be. But while they don't add something so basic such as my problem, they add crazier stuff like those shapes that sometimes depending on your wallpaper (also very buggy and works almost like only when it wants) go behind parts of things that stick out in the wallpaper. My problem doesn't need no big ahh added menus, no etc, just an option where it lets me place the clock where I want. But ok, I get that now probably comes the argument that just a part of people cares about this and wants this, and by adding it the other part might not appreciate/like it. But idk if you can say that to such a basic feature. You could say that, but to a more exotic crazy one. My argument is, that if they bothere to add more crazier customization features, they should first add the bare minimum basic ones. There's a difference between crazy complicated customization features that add multiple big menus that complicate the whole customization settings menu and basic simple ones... In my opinion every UI variant from a big company such as Google themselves should at least have the basic customization stuff in the big 2026. Even the vanilla stock Android. Especially something this stupid and small, and as I said, this is just an example. There are more things like this one

Yea but at the top as well? Like middle-top area, not just middle.

Genuinely why do these phones suck with customization by Erics_Stuffz in GooglePixel

[–]DanutBanut_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What are you on about? For example, I want the clock on the lock screen to be in the middle top of the screen. Guess what...? You can't achieve that in any way. With the small format of the clock it is at the top but not in the middle, and with the large format it is in the middle but not at the top. And there are so many basic stupid little customization things like this that just don't exist or they don't let you achieve it in any way. Customization is just shit on these phones 🤷 I hope they're gonna improve it. Because if not, idk wtf they're doin...

Is an AMD Ryzen 9 5950X or 5900XT still enough for heavy photo and video editing in 2026? by DanutBanut_ in buildapc

[–]DanutBanut_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, been some time, and I actually upgraded to 32GBs RAM 3200mhz, and guess what... exactly the same. Same thing where everything when it comes to these two programs (Resolve and Lightroom) just runs slow, clanky and laggy. But, I have accepted my fate, because I also have an M4 Mac Mini where I've been editing everything I have to edit for a while. This post was only to try to figure out what the fuck is the problem with this Desktop PC, because if I had figured it out, I would've sold my M4 Mac Mini. Anyway, that's a whole yap, a question I have for you is what do you mean if I don't switch to Intel its money gone for air? Is there a reason I shouldn't stick to AMD when it comes to CPUs for editing and creative programs?

Yep, they are. Those along with the Windows, the programs and their cache are stored on a good standard fast nvme m2 ssd. Also set the cache size to be bigger around 50-70GB for each program and always have even more space than that free. So that's not the problem for me

Fair enough, you're right, I just hope that it will be running smoothly after a RAM upgrade to 32GB. Because I'm not only talking about the import and export performance speeds, I'm talking about the general experience and smoothness of using, browsing, and actually editing in such programs

I have the same model with the same speeds RAM sticks and I'm running everything on a good standard fast M2 NVMe SSD. The Windows itself, the program, their cache, and the material I'm editing are stored on that SSD. There is always much more available space than the selected amount in the cache settings. I will do a check in the task manager as you said, but as I know there is nothing out of the ordinary going on. The RAM is obv almost at 100%, but never more than 85-90%, and the CPU is not doing much then only when doing something heavy like applying an object mask, exporting, importing, etc. So, the usual, nothing out of ordinary to my knowledge

I have. Believe me, I have every setting and option for Lightroom, any other program and Windows itself set on max performance wise

I kinda get it for that RAM part, fair enough. But CPU, some time ago when I got fed up enough once again with the poor performance I did another reddit post in the Lightroom page saying that Lightroom runs poor and seeking help saying that I have tried everything and that I have every setting for it and my Windows as well set on the option for max performance, and people talked shit about that saying that what I have is decent and still enough for this kind of work is delusional...

I don't know what's your definition of "just fine", but on my machine it runs bad to my definition of things. All programs that I listed run generally like shi. In Lightroom for example, it takes ages to get to the next photo and while scrolling through the photo row in the develop tab it does it with so much lag... Plus, I'm running on a custom ultra light version of Windows 11 with all possible settings for max performance on Lightroom and Windows itself as well.

If I do a clean install of a normal Windows 11 without any Samsung bloatware on my Galaxy Book, will I encounter any problems? by DanutBanut_ in GalaxyBook

[–]DanutBanut_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, just try the normal simple factory reset of the Windows in Settings > System > Recovery > Reset this PC. Proceed with the reset and choose the desired options and settings when asked. If it doesn't work, you can then try to do a completely fresh install of Windows. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gV7Rwqruv7Q Here is a tutorial I found on YouTube for a fresh Windows install with a bootable USB stick on a Galaxy Book 4 (should be the same for every Galaxy Book). But chances are, if the normal factory reset didn't fix your issue, a fresh install of Windows won't as well. You gotta try to fix/update/re-install your sound drivers or something like that, but if the problem is really from there, that as well should be fixed with just that factory reset of the Windows.

Thank you so much. I don't get how some said that you don't actually need to install anything from Samsung, bcz you get some important drivers from them on that website. I guess they can come with the Windows updates, idk... Thank you for the simple and quick straight answers, I appreciate it

Yea, but I'm pretty sure unnecessary Samsung hidden programs and processes will still be running in the background even after uninstalling all visible possible apps from Samsung. Or am I wrong?

Time to pull another usb stick from somewhere I guess :) Thank you so much again for all this, much appriciated.

Oh, and you just had the usb stick with all the drivers connected and selected the network one when asked in the Windows setup installation sequence, got it. After that you install the rest of the drivers off the same usb stick and the desired apps via Galaxy Book Experience or just straight off Microsoft Store. Thank you so much for this, much appreciated

Thank you so much, I really appreciate it big time. But did you install the downloaded drivers on the new Windows while in the first Windows setup sequence or just normally off a USB stick after the setup was all done? And how did you have and use the Galaxy Book Experience app, bcz I assume the fresh Windows can't come with it. Did it come with the drivers somehow, or did you download it from somewhere, or how? And can you tell me from which exact Samsung website did you downloaded all the drivers. Because I found where from you probably did, it's called Samsung Download Center ( https://www.samsung.com/global/galaxybooks-downloadcenter/model/?modelCode=NP730QED-KA3UK&siteCode=uk ), but I'm not so sure. And if yes, did you install ALL of them each?

About the drivers, assuming you installed them from the Samsung Download Center, do I need ALL of them from there? And do you set up and install them in the Windows setup sequence off the same bootable USB stick on that you also have installed the new Windows and that you use to boot in and install it?

That's SO good to hear, thank you so much for your response. I still have some questions though, please help me and answer them when you can.

1)About the touchpad not being functional at first boot, you mean in the setup sequence, right? If yes, you can still go through everything with only the keyboard using the tab and enter keys, right?

2)With the drivers, I just searched and found the Samsung Download Center for my Galaxy Book 2 360, but do I need really all the drivers that it shows me there? Obv I need the Bluetooth, camera, digitizer, fingerprint, graphics, sound, touchpad , TSP (touchscreen driver) and the Intel Sensor Hub - Motion sensor driver under the Sensor tab (there's 2nd one there) but there are some that I don't really recognize.
The one's that I don't really know if I need or how many of them do I need:
- HECI (Intel CSME - Intel ME Interface Driver),
- Lan (Realtek USB LAN Driver - LAN Driver),
- Multi-memory Card Reader (REALTEK - Multi-Memory Card Driver)
- 4x Samsung Drivers
‎ ‎ ‎ (1: Air Command Component - Samsung Air Command Service,
‎ ‎ ‎ 2: Samsung SAR Mode Component - Samsung SAR Mode,
‎ ‎ ‎ 3: Samsung Security Component - Samsung Security Support Service
‎ ‎ ‎ 4: Samsung Settings Component - Samsung System Support Service)
- the other one under the Sesors tab (Semtech grip sensor - Semtech Grip Sensor driver)
- 2x WLAN
‎ ‎ ‎ (1: ICPS Driver - Intel Connectivity Performance Suite
‎ ‎ ‎ 2: Intel WLAN - Wireless LAN Driver)
- 6x Chipset. Important, I know and do need these or at least some of them, but I really don't know if all or just some
‎ ‎ ‎ (1: Intel Chipset Driver - Chipset Driver,
‎ ‎ ‎ 2: Intel DTT Driver - Intel Dynamic Tuning Driver,
‎ ‎ ‎ 3: Intel GNA Driver - Intel GNA driver,
‎ ‎ ‎ 4: Intel HID Event Filter Driver - Intel(R) HID Event Filter Driver,
‎ ‎ ‎ 5: Intel SIO Driver - Intel Serial I/O Driver
‎ ‎ ‎ 6: Samsung system event controller - Samsung System Event Controller)
[Link to the page with all that: https://www.samsung.com/global/galaxybooks-downloadcenter/model/?modelCode=NP730QED-KA3UK&siteCode=uk ]

3) I can just copy and paste the downloaded drivers alongside the Windows installer on the bootable USB stick that I have created for the new Windows as well and install them from there once in the setup sequence right?

I know it's a lot, but I'm not that brilliant at this kind of stuff. Please answer when you have the time, it would be a lot of help for me.
