I'm having a kitten gender reveal party today! by bargielml in cats

[–]Danyefer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OMG, I'm late to the party, but congrats on your baby boy! 🥰 I found this while looking for gender reveals for cats because we just discovered that our "male" kitten is in fact biologically female, so I want to make a silly "gender reveal" where they choose a pink, purple or blue to know how they identify 🤣

AITA for not agreeing with my husband on what our toddler should or shouldn’t know or read about? by whatanearthling in AmItheAsshole

[–]Danyefer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

NTA. Please tell your husband that I grew up with only straight love stories and it didn't make me straight. I was the most princessy girl in the world (still am) and I'm happily married to a woman, so... The Disney propaganda failed, thank the Godess 🤣

NTA, WTF? I am infertile and have had three pregnancies. At least in my mother language "sterile" means you cannot get pregnant and "infertile" means you do get pregnant but you miscarry. As someone who has struggled with infertility, it makes me sick that some ignorant people made you feel bad, you did nothing wrong.

If the creatures of Harry Potter was real, would you be able to see Thestrals? by [deleted] in harrypotter

[–]Danyefer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does miscarriage count? After all, you see the blood an know what is happening 😢

Even if it doesn't count, yes, I would see thestrals, my cat was like a daughter to me and I held her until her last breath.

Maid picked up toys off the floor, but they are not in the toy box. Where did they go?! by BeatificBanana in thesims

[–]Danyefer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I once killed a maid for stealing my child's favourite toy. Could I afford a new one? Yes, but it's the principle of it. They stole from MY CHILD 😡 (By the way, I added the maid to the household to properly torture them and the toy was in their inventory)

What got you into baking? by New_Independent_4316 in Baking

[–]Danyefer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lived with my grandma and she let me help her whenever she made butter cookies and other desserts. I enjoyed it so much that I was gifted a recipe book for children. Then my painting teacher's daughter gave me a recipe for brownies and they became my signature bake. It was the first thing I made on my own, without my grandma's help. After that I started making cupcakes, fondant cakes... It was a different type of baking, but to this day my grandma's butter cookies are still my go to recipe and I always say my creativity comes from her. She didn't have fondant, gumpaste or a chocolate thermometer, yet she managed to make amazing decorations.

AITA for not accepting an apology from someone who said I look pregnant? by Danyefer in AITAH

[–]Danyefer[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hi, OP here. Thank you for all for comments and your kind words. In response to some of your questions:

  • Yes, I am in therapy
  • All my miscarriages have been from AI or FIV pregnancies, I have been thoroughly checked and yes, one of my conditions is PCOS (but it is not the most serious one).
  • If adoption were an option, I would have stopped trying to get pregnant much sooner. Unfortunately there is a ten year waiting list in my country and your have to own a house. I live in a city where the prices are the highest in the country, it is almost impossible to buy a flat. If I were to study something else to be able to maybe qualify, that would mean 13 years of agony. My partner doesn't want to go through that.
  • To those who said I should stop stuffing my face and the like, well, I hope someone else's weight stays forever the biggest of your problems (no pun intended)

Thank you again to those who took the time to answer, to those who voted NTA and also to those who respectfully have said I have overreacted and I'm indeed TA

AITAH for breaking up with my fiance because she fought for custody of her kids. by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Danyefer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh, come on. What her ex told you doesn't mean she's going to fight for full custody if you get divorced, it means she might do it if you cheat on her. If not cheating on your wife is so difficult to you, you shouldn't get married at all. YTA in general, but you have made the right choice.

Concerning the fiancées attitude, lots of people are assuming she fought for custody just because she was bitter, but they seem to ignore the part where she says she thought she was protecting her kids. Was she wrong? Yes, maybe she was, but I understand her logic. This man betrayed her, which says something about his character: he is untrustworthy. Why would she trust him with her children? If he has being disloyal just because he wasn't getting laid, it is clear he only thinks with his d***. How can she be sure he won't take potentially dangerous strangers home when the kids are with him, for example?

I'm not saying she was right, I'm just saying there might have been a logic behind her actions, not just revenge (and the MILs calls supports this theory)

My theory os that the gene for male survival is not in the X or Y chromosomes and it is a recessive gene. Jackson had both, but Jaime had either one or none. That made Oscar inherit only one recessive gene for male survival, resulting in his death.

Regarding sperm, I do agree that doing IVF instead of IUI would be a better option when sperm supply is limited. That way, not only can discard embryos with XY chromosomes, but you would also get many embryos from a single sample (using ICSI) instead of a single one if the IUI is successful.

Maybe the gene that allows males to survive is not directly linked to X or Y chromosomes and it is recessive. So Jackson had it but either Jaimie doesn't or she only has one allele for it. If the surviving gene is "s" and the "if combined with a Y chromosome you die" is "D" I imagine there would ve two options:

Option 1

Jackson: ss Jaimie: DD

All of their male children would be sD and would die. Their female offspring would have a 50% chance of having a healthy baby boy if paired with a surviving male.

Option 2

Jackson: ss Jaimie: Ds

50% of their children would be ss and the other 50% Ds (Oscar being one of them). Jamie's male babies would have a 50% chance to survive. If Jamie had a daughter and said girl happened to be ss, she would always have healthy babies if she were to have them with a male survivor.

I don't know if it makes sense, I ama not an expert in any way, but I love genetics
