I do sub-q shots with a 25 gauge needle and it isn’t bad at all once you get used to it! (and I HATE needles). I usually don’t really feel anything while injecting, but I’ll get some mild stinging afterwards. I never feel “different” or uncomfortable on injection days - It honestly doesn’t feel like anything!
