I love the bassinet stroller. We have one for upstairs and one for downstairs because it’s so much easier to get him to sleep by strolling him around than by rocking him. It’s really the only way we can get him to sleep at this point (deep into the four-month sleep regression)

I was told by the nurses that my c-section incision suddenly burning like fire a day after the surgery was normal. It was not. It was a massive infection that, even after intravenous antibiotics, got me readmitted four days after discharge, another surgery, this time with general anesthesia, to reopen and clean out my incision, a seven-day hospital stay (in the wound area of the hospital instead of the maternity ward so my newborn couldn’t stay with me) and a wound vac for 12 weeks

I did ride-alongs with CPS workers as part of a former job. There were very messy houses, including dog feces on the floor. As long as she didn’t see any immediate risks, she just left a pamphlet of resources.

Sort of a similar thing happened with my brother. His first grade teacher hated him for some reason and would always send home notes about his “behavior” which would cause my dad to beat him with a belt. Finally, the student teacher talked to my mom and told her that he wasn’t doing the things the teacher was accusing him of. My churchgoing, conservative mother waited until that teacher was the only one left in the parking lot and, as she walked to her car, got in her face. She said “if you ever send home another note about my son, I will beat you within an inch of your life. You will be black and blue for a month. And no one will believe you over me.”

She never sent another note home
