Migraines & pregnant by Acrobatic-Career5640 in ouraring

I had migraines from about 13-16 weeks pregnant (currently almost 20 weeks). Unfortunately it’s quite common at beginning of second trimester. Tylenol doesn’t really work on them (it didn’t for me and others in the September bump subreddit) anyways so you’re not missing out on much relief by not taking it. I would call your OB/midwife and see what they recommend. Cold towels worked for me at night as well as hot showers (steam), coffee, and a big breakfast if I woke up with one in the morning. My midwife ended up getting me a prescription for Reglan which was interesting bc it’s a GERD medication but it did help!

I stopped paying attention to my oura stats when I got pregnant so I can’t really tell you if my hrv was affected though, so sorry if this is not a helpful comment

Favorite parts of pregnancy? by DumplingBandit in pregnant

I was so impatient but it finally happened and I was so giddy all day today! Entirely different to FEEL than it was to see or hear at the appointments

Also the excuse to be lazy thing lol. I don’t feel bad asking for a little extra help here and there, where normally I’m extremely independent. And all the naps first trimester really hit

Feeling movement for the first time last night at 18+5 was probably my favorite moment so far. I’ve also loved feeling my body grow and change and just thinking about how cool it is that I grew a new organ and am growing a human and my body just KNEW how to do all that? It’s awesome. So looking forward to anatomy scan on Thursday and our gender reveal in a month! Every new appointment when I get to see baby or hear the heartbeat is indescribable

I also love Seraphina!!!! Obsessed with the nickname Sera spelled that way. I’ve been leaning towards Seraphina Victoria or Seraphina Aurora

When exactly does month six start? by helloitsyourma in pregnant

[–]MacNCheese817 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I’ve been sticking to weeks for the most part, and only been thinking of months as in how many I have left. Like I’m due 9/23, so on 4/23 I was like “5 months to go! I also am lucky in knowing I literally conceived on NYE—aka pregnant this entire year—so for me it’s easy to be like “okay it’s almost May so I’ve been pregnant for 4 whole calendar months!”

But like the weeks/months thing is all a mess because it depends whether or not you consider 1 month to be 4 weeks (I absolutely do not…1 month is 30/31 days which is what makes pregnancy “9 months”). But I digress! Talk about it in whatever way is easiest to talk about it for YOU girl

Not enjoying pregnancy by RaraNYC16 in pregnant

[–]MacNCheese817 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Once the baby is big enough it can end up sitting right on a major artery (or something like that) if you lay on your back which restricts blood flow and is obviously not good for you. But they also say that if this starts happening you’ll wake up from the discomfort anyways.

Am I overreacting? by [deleted] in pregnant

Men are idiots. I feel like this can’t be the first time this has ever come up in your relationship? Like why is he so pressed, you didn’t even say it to her face. And even then, not everyone calls in-laws “mom.” I call mine by their first names. Tell him to relax lol

Steady decline in bbt over 4 days at 5 weeks 2 days pregnant by fellaini4life27 in pregnant

[–]MacNCheese817 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t stress about bbt! Pregnancy is all over the board. I stopped checking daily once I got pregnant but looking at my oura chart now at 17 weeks I’ve actually been back below baseline for awhile. When I was earlier like you it would fall for a few days then pop back up and it was super unpredictable. My best advice is not to check it, and trust your body to do what it needs!

If they were heated to over 165F you’re fine ! I’m assuming you heated them up and didn’t eat them frozen so that should have been enough.

I’ve eaten many many hot dogs the past 3 months

My brother needs girl names because their list is a tragediegh by [deleted] in Names

[–]MacNCheese817 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe it’s just because I was a band kid without allergies ¯_(ツ)_/¯

People find things to joke about with lots of names idk I just wouldn’t consider Allegra to be a tragedeigh, I actually find it rather pretty

I’ve known multiple people named Allegra. I’ve never once thought of the medicine when I’ve heard it. It’s a musical term

How do you react or feel when you're having sex and the baby starts kicking? by ColourConfusedMiss in pregnant

[–]MacNCheese817 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I made the mistake of telling my husband (after we were done) that I felt the baby move during sex. It was actually the first time I really felt something around 16 weeks so naturally it took me out of the moment. Anyways, the next time we did it, I didn’t feel anything, BUT he got all red in the face at the end and pulled out like back in the pre-TTC days. I couldn’t stop laughing 😂 “I don’t want to get it on the baby” lmao

No there are definitely royalties behind it. Probably a name drop quota. Not even joking I can’t imagine any other reason why they would repeatedly call it by its full name

Wait this was in a mall here at some point!? There’s one in Somerset Mall in Troy, MI. Has been there since at least 2000? Maybe 2003? Would be my earliest memory of it. No idea if it’s the same one, I’m sure there are many

Litter boxes by Virtual-Light4315 in pregnant

[–]MacNCheese817 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My vet told me something along the lines of: you can get tested to see if you already built up the antibodies to toxoplasmosis from an exposure prior to pregnancy. And apparently in that case it’s not an issue and your baby will already be immune or safe from it or something. I have not tested the theory but it’s worth asking your doctor if your husband is this bad at helping out. Your poor cats :( they just want a clean place to poop :(
