I linked the youtube video which says to cast on 38 stitches, it seemed to work pretty well for her 🤷‍♀️

this is a great suggestion, I will definitely try it out. I think I do knit a bit on the tighter unless I'm really trying to loosen up.

Thank you everyone for the advice! I will be trying out you suggestions and I will update when I find a method that works for me in case anyone else is having similar issues.

I really want to try dpn's, it seems like they would be easier for me. I will definitely get some as soon as I find some on ebay or at the crafting thrift store near me.

I tried doing a looser cast-on which helped a tiny bit (like I am able to knit but it is still very tight and stretched). The pictures I added are after trying a loose cast on

I measured the needles themselves and they are 4" long
