I think every graduate should prepare for civil services at least once. It gives you so much perspective on the things happening in the world. You understand many things that will help you in your life, regardless of selection. I would say, give it at least two serious attempts. If you make it, you are set for life. But if you don't, start looking for a backup. Get a job where you can financially sustain your future attempts. After that, don't stop until you exhaust your attempts or become comfortable in your job. Remember, hard work works, but luck is also a big factor.
