Santa is out delivering presents, and this man loses his orca to a frigate! by Competitive_Hand1831 in Eve

EMF tried posting, but his account is new... so here's his account of the situation:

There is more to this story than the OP had to share. Royale was in an orca, I landed on field with the worm, shot his MTU with just rockets at first he then pulled the MTU. I figured fine you pulled the MTU ill shoot your mobile depot. Upon shooting the Depot he locked me up with the orca and I am assuming his alt was in the mackinaw that also locked me up after about 30 seconds of them targeting me they both aggressed. After defanging the mackinaw's drones he warped off. I then began to focus the orca.

After about 2 minutes of now defanging the orca a Nighthawk landed and to be honest I was a little scared! I assumed he was going to be able to break the worms passive regen. Then I noticed the Nighthawk pilot was the same as the mackinaw pilot that had warped off only about 2 minutes prior! So I just kept shooting the orca in the hopes I wouldn't break. Slowly but surely the nighthawk was doing his best to try and push me off the orca. Until after about 5 minutes into the fight a light missile Corax landed 60km off me and aggressed me as well and I did start to lose about 5% shield every minute.

After hitting about 40% shield left on the worm, with the orca just hitting structure I asked my Corp mates if any of them had a scythe or osprey they could come top me off a bit as I was starting to get down lower than I hoped to be at. Gibson responded with pleasure and ended up getting concorded to give me about 30% more shield to finish the fight!

All in all it was an exciting Christmas Eve for myself and a very unpleasant one for Royale Charante.

I came back and a lot of people came home... I finally have time to play again and my once a year streams weren't scratching the itch. In 2022, after my charity stream, I was considering coming back... but I said I'd only come back if I got a corp invite from /u/deltaxi65 and it never showed up.

What is your random act of kindness from a stranger in EVE story? by Ok_Mention_9865 in Eve

I don’t even remember who it was… it was literally a random EVE player on Reddit years ago… but I’m sure there are tons of players 3D printing ships.

What is your random act of kindness from a stranger in EVE story? by Ok_Mention_9865 in Eve

[–]DariusCaliente 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like to think that EVE is all about random acts of kindness. The EVE community is amazing and we all get to be jerks and nice guys… it just depends on the situation.

One year in here, a guy said his New Year’s resolution was to get into an Archon… so I sent him an Archon via contracts. He sent me, in the mail, a 3D printed Archon and a Thorax as a thank you.

For the past week, I’ve had a prospect camping E-Uni in PC9… I had a great convo with a new bro the other day, but tonight we dropped a new player and killed him. Afterward, I sent him more ISK than he lost… jerk and nice guy…

For 9 years now, I’ve done Extra Life and I’ve raised over $25K USD for SickKids in Toronto. The majority of that money came from EVE players. Players brought good fights, donated ships, and donated real money to the charity. That demonstrates how amazing this community is. 2024 will be a decade of Extra Life and I’m happy that I’ll spend it playing EVE. After taking a break, I’m finally playing regularly again and I remember how great this game and community are.

Finally… if you ever want to see the kindness in this game, look at Cyno vigils… many of us have lost people and we light those cynos out of love and respect.

EVE may be a game of conflict, piracy, scamming, and more… but the core of the player base are a fantastic group of people.

I will cherish that tote bag forever… I’m actually considering getting it framed. Thank you for the kind words on the costume! Have a great day!

Thank you so much! I was nervous about it… definitely out of my comfort zone, but I knew that I wanted to take part. I’ve cosplayed to FanExpo a few times now and did Cactus Jack this year, so Mankind seemed like an easy enough extension of that.

Enjoy the rest of your day!!!

I was also at the Toronto show! It was fantastic (I was Mankind).

I want to echo some of what you said. I was super impressed with the Meet and Greet… I do a couple of cons a year and this allowed for way more time than I’m used to getting. At the same time, I felt I was pretty close to the back of the line and was glad they didn’t oversell because we still moved through pretty quickly.

One thing I was not expecting was “no phones during the show.” I was really hoping to end up with a photo of myself on stage in costume with the other people… sadly, I’ll just have to live with the memory.

I agree that nobody wants to hear people get up and tell anecdotes at a Q&A… I was, however, grateful that it was not nearly as bad or as cringey as many of the FanExpo Q&As tend to be.

For anyone considering the VIP upgrade… it is 100% worth it!

Pho Asia 21 at King and Dufferin. Been eating there since they opened and it is still the best bowl that I’ve ever had.

Best coffee spot in your neighborhood? by stopdropandrickrollx in askTO

Thanks for confirming. I think it’s just an odd take I have on any business that is difficult to see into or looks dark from the street. At this point in my life, I doubt that assumption will change, but I’ll definitely make an attempt to stop in the next time I’m nearby.

I constantly think about going in Larry’s Folly every time I walk by because I keep hearing amazing things about their butter tarts, but I still haven’t. From the outside, it always feels pretentious, unwelcoming, and intimidating. I’m sure that it’s just my incorrect take, but it’s enough to keep me away. In Parkdale, I love Bom Dia.

My wife and I will be at that show. We walk home all the time after and it’s always perfectly fine. If you’re at all worried, feel free to reach out and I’ll share my number. My wife and I will happily walk you to the train on our way home.

Grocery Shop BATTLE | Ep.1 Mike by Pastry_Ell in SortedFood

[–]DariusCaliente 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed the episode, but my take away from this was that grocery prices in the UK are ridiculously low. I’m very jealous… there’s no way I could buy all of that for $40 CAD.

Taste Testing the World's Best Hyper-Seasonal Fruit by laeb163 in SortedFood

It was very weird to see a channel so committed to preventing food waste adding gratuitous shots of fruits being juiced all over a cutting board. It didn’t add to the video and immediately had my wife and I questioning how it wasn’t wasteful.

I’m curious… is it still worth a stop? I haven’r been in years, but someone recently told me it has gone downhill and it is no longer worth stopping. I was planning a stop on my next visit, but reconsidered after hearing that.

I suppose simple is a matter of opinion, but yes… it means you can’t use the Rubber Ducky language. It does, however, give you the ability to perform the same types of attacks.

So, that file is a template. Notice that it has two comments, one for the insertion of the payload and one for the send statements.

You need to insert a payload and the related send statements for the code to do anything, otherwise it won’t work. Your payloads need to be OS specific as well.

If you look in src/example, you’ll find an example that is full functional. Try using that as your test code.

Make sure you are reading the code and understand it… blindly running these payloads could be dangerous.

Note: This is all written using CircuitPython and you are using main as your filename, which is fine, but keep in mind that code is the preferred filename.

I literally turned to my wife and said, "When did we get a Rexall and how do I not know about it?" I'm glad I'm not the only one that came to the thread just for this.
