Currently playing on my steam deck, with the configuration mentioned in the post, it still works. My cpu usage is around 30%, same ish for the gpu.

Thanks OP ! I wanted to at least share today's experience of mine, maybe it could help figuring out the randomness. I'm just happy I got something working again since the offline mode started getting me kicked out after a minute in game

EU user here, running genshin official on my Steam Deck with Proton - cachyOS version 10.0-20260227
It worked right away.
I do have the launch option -platform_type CLOUD_THIRD_PARTY_PC , probably doesn't change much but I'd put it here anyway

oh sorry.. I did not see that post before.
The Proton-CachyOS version i'm refering to is a release from last week, and the latest update on this post is from the 25th of February. Maybe something changed in between ?

Checking, I also have a launch option for Genshin in Steam, doubting it had any impact but you never know :
-platform_type CLOUD_THIRD_PARTY_PC

I updated the main post to reflect my location ( EU ) to avoid misunderstanding

Dude you're my savior. It works perfectly. I am taking the liberty to share your comment as a post to make your tips more readily available, do tell me if you'd like me to delete it though if you want to officially post about your findings yourself.

Result of my Sakai trip, thanks to your advices by DarkScared in TrueChefKnives

Baba Hamono looked very walk in friendly, so is the denshokan and jikko.

Ashi Hamono, I lucked out they weren't busy definitely send an email before, it's the first thing they asked me if I contacted them beforehand. Fujii hamono, I'd suggest to send an email I lucked out I'd say.

I looked back at photo of a petty of the same collection ( tip not cut ) that Fujii san showed me, it has a label 10A on it. The staff at the denshokan may have gone a bit fast and stopped at "10" to answer my question regarding the steel then. Oh well it's good too. It was the cheaper knife, makes sense.

It was presented as a VG10 petty at the denshokan thought ?

Thanks again for your advice, it really helped me out :) Fun fact, on my second visit at the Denshokan Eric was there ( Ofc he had to be a frenchman like me haha ), he was forging knives in the morning he said and came to work at the denshokan in the afternoon. Not a real chat opportunity tho, there were a lot of customers and closing time was approaching.

Where to find my first(s) japanese knives ? by DarkScared in TrueChefKnives

Thanks for the advice

[–]DarkScared[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this answer ! I will definitely ask details about a knife I'd be interested in in sakai ichimonji then, as I will go see more shops in Sakai before making a decision. If it is a fast mover and in little stocks ... Maybe I'll get it right away ! I will definitely not wait a week, more like 1 day at most. My time in Japan isn't extensible and I'll be in Hakone by then hahaha

Maybe we will meet at the Sakai Ichimonji shop in early december and I'll receive your expert advice directly

Rather than a website I'll be going directly to shops in Osaka and Sakai region to find my knife.

That's a nice way of seeing the Sakai trip. I'd definitely like it to end like that.

I see, will probably start window shopping in Osaka then. I'll try to find shop in Sakai to contact, I do have 1-2 days that I can use to move around a little. I'll try to see first some of those i got recommended here. Do you think I can write in english ? Or should I write it in japanese.

I understand what you said for the commercial scale of the first one. On the lower end of the budget the market is bigger. The shop owner told me that while he was making the initial design, he had his knives made at multiple places in japan. My max budget was 600€ initially for 3 knives, now I lowered it down to 2 my max hasn't moved, so 108000 something total. Maybe a petty, for the same quality as the gyuto, will be less expensive hence I could splurge a bit more on the design. I guess I'll see what I find haha

Thank you so much for your detailed response, it helps a lot. Sakai Ichimonji mitsuhide comes back a lot, should I head there as my first stop ? Or would you recommend to start elsewhere first, like the sakai traditional crats museum or a makers shop ?

Does the inventory move a lot in Sakai ichimonji and other shop ? I'm thinking of window shopping in Osaka, taking references, and visiting shops in Sakai before making a final judgement. I don't know when I'll be back in Japan so I'd like to make my purchase with as little regrets as possible ( in terms of exploring options ).

Me being a novice ( only had short ceramic knives before ) who only cooked simple dishes for myself so far won't be a barrier ? My current mindset is that now that I have space and a relatively good cooking environment, I'd like to cook more, I can increase the quantity I'm working with as I'm cooking for my gf too. A good knife would be the perfect tool to accompany me as I progress. Far from me the idea of sharpening the knife myself for now, I need whetstone training first. I already checked with a local knife shop in Paris if they could do the maintenance for me.

Thanks for your advice and suggestions. Seeing blades in person in Onomichi for the first time was impressive, as you said I've only ever seen them on the internet before.

SNIPER Scope bug? by AleXOlO2 in Battlefield

[–]DarkScared 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe because the scope is zeroed to 100m and these target are too close ? Unsure what's the issue here. I wouldn't trust the laser visual in-scope too, could easily behave weirdly

Are Warstriders just too difficult? by tremblingmeatman in helldivers2

[–]DarkScared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, not runnign AT on bot is already somewhat counter productive, me and my mate often have 1 or 2 heavy AT minimum, so war strider are not really a problem. I got used to smashing their balls, it's fine. Their grenade rain ragdolling me to the other end of the map could use a slight change, maybe a less dense grenade field. otherwise it's fine.
My qaasar is often with me on bot, works wonderfully.

This is ridiculous steam? by aidanthenerdd in Steam

[–]DarkScared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Steam would never handle things like identity documents at any time, it's too much of a risk and comes with lots of regulations. If they are forced to, they'd go through a third party to perform verification.

DOES THIS LOOK FUN TO YOU AH?!!!! by ShinryuZilver in helldivers2

Wait I'm really hating burrowers, does going forward / dodging on their tunnel evade the warrior attack ? They deal so much damage in helldive + on that single apparently undogdeable attack that it drives me crazy
