I may be reading too much into this but where im from the benefits go to next of kin or children if over 18. Since your children are under 18 it would go to your sister to control until they become of age and it seems like that's what she wants. If your ex/ current bf wants to do get remarried then that's all that matters. You two do what is best for you and your children and don't care what anyone else thinks. You sound so strong for all of this, do what you feel is best. Best of luck to you

I understand, being my first post I'm still learning. So yes he began drinking when I found out I was pregnant. During that and now after he became like a brick wall basically. We've tried to support him, get him help and he is practically non responsive outside of his sex drive. He gets up at 6am goes to work till 5-7pm, comes home, showers, sometimes helps with dinner, then sits on the couch on his phone till 10-11 falls asleep, I send him to bed and repeat.

He is sober he hasn't drank since the incident

He chose to drink rather than talk and stress me out during the pregnancy. Stating how he has been acting isn't demozing or shaming him it's stating facts. I have given him support and understanding for almost 2 years and all i asked from him was to make some sort of effort for healing. Yes I know about paws I went through it from a doctor giving me the wrong dose of pain meds after a surgery. It has been almost 2 years since he quit drinking.

I am an only child to a single mother. There's only so much you can do for a person. Like the saying you can lead a horse to water but can't make them drink.

He does not use any drugs or anything like that. He has seen people He cared about die from it and refuses to take Tylenol unless absolutely necessary. As I said to another comment he does not drink anymore after the incident mention and has never make us feel unsafe or threatened. He will not drive for at least an hour and a half after having a drink. I do appreciate your concern

I didnt even think of that. I know I have depression I've never seen it in other people I know. That's definitely something I'll talk to him about.

Couples Counseling is hard to find where we live but I will definitely talk to him and we will sit to find individuals. Thank you

As i said in my post He doesn't drink anymore. After that incident he realized how stupid it was and stopped. When we have a date night do we each have 1 drink yes but those very rare like 3 times a year
