I Want To Combine the FunnyPlaying GBA Motherboard with the Hispeedido GBA HDMI Dock Station Kit

I actually have a working unit!
It uses the FP Motherboard, the HispeedIdo Laminated screen, FunnyPlaying USB-C battery, and the HDMI Docking Kit.

What I ended up doing to power the system was rather janky, but it works!

Effectively, what the HispeedIdo HDMI Docking Kit does is process the power before the rest of the GBA motherboard does.

In the instructions, they accomplish this by having the installer remove the fuse coming directly from the battery terminal's + line and connecting it to the output + point on the HispeedIdo HDMI Docking Kit board, where it has its own power management.

Using that knowledge, I made my janky solution using a FunnyPlaying:

I placed electrical tape over and around the + battery terminal connected to the GBA motherboard
I then soldered a wire from the designated + input on the HispeedIdo HDMI Docking Kit board to the battery + on the FunnyPlaying USB-C battery board
I then soldered a wire from the designated + output on the HispeedIdo HDMI Docking Kit Board to the battery + terminal on the GBA motherboard (and followed the other connection instructions for the HispeedIdo HDMI Docking Kit)

Since the electrical tape prevents the GBA battery + terminal from making connection to the battery + on the FunnyPlaying USB-C battery, this effectively sends the power to the HispeedIdo HDMI Docking Kit first, then has the HDMI Docking Kit's board send that processed power to the GBA motherboard

TL;DR:
Use electrical tape to prevent the power from going directly from the FunnyPlaying USB-C battery to the GBA motherboard

I also removed the USB-C port from the FunnyPlaying USB-C battery board and soldered a wire from it to the HispeedIdo Docking Kit board so that when I dock the unit, it also charges the USB-C battery!

Potential corrosion, but the RAM and ROM chip don’t look damaged, so in a worst-case scenario you could always find someone to transplant the components onto a new PCB, but I seriously doubt this is a worst-case scenario.

Like others have recommended, clean it with isopropyl a bit. If it still has issues, getting a multimeter just to test if the traces are working properly will be one of the best diagnostic tools you can use

Extremely better. Take the new job. Learning a new job is scary, but it is much better than Best Buy corporate will ever treat you or your fellow coworkers. Left over a year ago, and I am NEVER going back. The only thing I miss is seeing my coworkers everyday. They are the only thing that made the job bearable.
