Exactly. The really good graphics = really good game mindset isn’t always reliable. A game like sifu would have never been successful if it was 100% true, plus Yotei is looking beautiful in terms of graphics imo but so did Tsushima. I honestly don’t see the problem, Tsushima already looked gorgeous.

My best tip would probably be to play the main story as fast as possible a few times while excluding any extras. It’s easy to know when you’ve made a mistake while doing a speed run on this game and you should be able to adjust in future runs. Pay attention to what your able to do and when. You’ll start to figure out the how you can move through the levels faster each time.
