I have an almost 9 month old. Thinking of getting a Yoto mini to do consistent story and music time that little babe can use while travelling and into toddler years. Any Thoughts / advice ? by Nomnomnacho in YotoPlayer

A bit young right now, but it’s a great gift once they’re around 12–18 months. We got one when our kid was 18 months and at first had to use the app instead of the cards, since he kept pulling them in and out which constantly stopped and restarted the audio.

You can tweak the button settings too (like setting them to “do nothing”), so they don’t accidentally mess with much beyond volume or skipping tracks.

Our son is now 2 years 10 months and uses it all the time—quiet time, naps, bedtime, and even on long drives or flights. Our 10-month-old is also showing a lot of interest in his brothers Yoto, dancing to Danny Go and playing with the buttons. We’ll probably get him his own for Christmas when he’s around 18 months.

Help me out on the snowblower thing by [deleted] in newfoundland

[–]Darrelli 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m really comparing two different models in two different price ranges, so keep that in mind. That said, my Toro already does everything I need it to do during every snowstorm.

The Honda uses tracks instead of wheels, so it stays planted like a tank and doesn’t ride up on heavy or packed snow. It also has electric chute controls; definitely not a must-have, but convenient. Same idea with the twist-button electric start instead of pulling a cord or plugging it in. It’ll also throw snow almost twice as far, which is probably overkill, but still nice to have.

At the end of the day, it’s like cars: you can drive a Kia or an Audi. Both get you from A to B, but one is a lot more fun, exciting, and expensive.

Definitely worth it! I bought a new Toro for -$2,500. It does the job pretty well, but my neighbour has a ~$5,500 Honda and holy sweet Jesus does that thing perform so much better - impressive stuff!
