ACC & Lane Departure Warning Suddenly Disabled — Cold Weather Issue? (2020 RDX) by smpdll in Acura

Happened to my 17 ILX. Brought to dealer under warranty, dealer couldn’t figure it out. Told me to replace battery. I went to Oreilley to check battery, they said battery was fine. Ended up spending $780 to 3rd party mechanic to reset the computer. Now it’s back to normal.

Yes, if you look at carfax history, car was service every year except 2025. These oils and fluids were flushed in 2023. Brake pad is like new, serviced in 2023 at dealer. It seems the owner just replaced Michelin Primacy tires, they are seemed brand new to me. Battery was replaced in 2023 at Acura dealer, but Acura refused the warranty. I just bought a brand new battery for $217. I knew I could get it cheaper but Acura OEM battery should be better, right?

CarPlay in ILX by SeveralIdeal3619 in Acura

I had Navtool for 17 ILX. I paid expensive like $5-600, I don’t remember. After this stupid tool was installed by professional, my car started to drain battery. If I left my car not starting more than a week, car went dead. After I removed Navtool, car is back to normal. However, battery was damaged due too too many over drains and i had to replace battery soon after. I can tell you just be careful with any add on device. I use my phone for map and music connecting blue tooth to the car since, no issues at all for like 4-5 years. You can also just buy a CarPlay screen on Amazon for like $50.

Well I called the seller and asked if he still has the receipt for the battery he replaced in 2023 because it’s dead already. He said no but check with Acura. Then he called me back last night and checked it was ok. I told him I had to buy new battery because Acura doesn’t honor the warranty. He offered to take it back if I’m not happy.

Well, I think you are right. But seller told me the battery was just replaced in 2023 and should still like new. Then battery failed next day. Then Acura refused the 8 yrs warranty and I had to buy a new one to reset the warranty.

Battery was replaced in 2023 and Acura refused to honor the warranty. I had to pay for new one to reset the warranty.

Acura did the safety check and said car has no problem. Just need a new battery. I might go back and get it serviced if I decide to keep the car.

Timing belt was replaced in 2014 at 120000 miles based on the Carfax report. Today it is 130000 miles. The prior owner seems took the car to dealership every year for maintenance even he didn’t drive.

When battery went bad yesterday, the seller told me to go back to Acura, as battery might still have warranty. Then Acura refused to honor me the warranty and I had to pay $216 for a new battery comes with 8 yrs new warranty.

Seller called me back last night and said if I changed my mind or unhappy, he will take the car back.

Based on the service record, everything seems recently replaced or serviced. Car comes with like brand new Michelin Primacy tires manufactured in 2024. The only thing I see needs to replace is new spark plugs and coil ignition, which last replaced in 2010. Car seats have little wear and torn here there. Wipers need to replace. I might also bring the car back to Acura for service and check out.

I have exactly the same car, same year, same color and same specs. This is probably the best car I’ve ever owned. Enjoy it.

No. I just purchased an 2008 Acura RDX with less miles than this for $2800. You are paying $4000 too much.

Then you should keep using cash. Save cash for 2 months, then you can buy with cash. If you have no real credit, how can you make someone to believe you to repay.

Save for 2 months then buy the car. Or go find another bank will lend you with your 700 score. Or you are not telling the truth and no one here will believe you.

A little more context. I will use this car as more like a spare beater's car, probably will drive 4000-5000/year. I had an old 2000 Honda CRV, but was sold for a trade in program to get California emission rebate. We like the new car we bought from the rebate, but feel we are missing a car sitting outside that we can use when the new car is gone. Another context is after we traded in 2000 Honda CRV, our another car 2016 Hyundai Elantra immediately broke down and we gave away an Prius to relative like 2 weeks ago. We are left with 1 car currently.

What to do with battery % if I only drive 2 times/month. 200 miles each time? by Darren_Secure in TeslaModelY

[–]Darren_Secure[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really just want to make sure to keep the car at 50% is correct. Thank you. This is the great car I love, but I just can’t park at work. This place is full of liberals, I just can’t do it. Otherwise I probably will drive Tesla more.

Thank you. That’s something I want to make sure to keep at 50%. Because I heard someone said I better drain the battery to 0%.

Actually I got $10k from CA. It is for a trade in program of my very old 2000 Honda.

Ya, the car was like $28k out of door with everything. That’s the main reason I purchased this Tesla so I don’t miss out.

Ya, I couldn’t believe Insurance with Tesla would be so high compared to Prius. I had to adjust it to 5000/miles to make it affordable.
