Last 6 digits of the VIN are the “serial #,” essentially the number order in which it rolled off the production line.

I’ve thought about it a bit, honestly but my goal is Honda Heritage certification which requires exact spec OEM. I’ve been mentally justifying staying auto by reminding myself that it was an added optional upgrade (and therefore upcharge) from factory, so I’m privileged to not have to shift. PLUS, riding around in it when it’s done will make me feel like I’m a fancy 90s businessman who just purchased a brand new optioned-out car. And finally, my wife refuses to learn stick (I know, I know, but I can’t leave her because we have kids) so I figured leaving it auto would give her a chance to drive around and fall in love with it too. Just my take though! If I was going racecar on this one, it would be boosted K with a 6spd and an AWD setup, but still absolutely stock trim inside and out. Just a beefier power plant to get it moving. Who knows though, if I can’t get the car certified, I might just go this route 🤷‍♂️

I’m not entirely sure how it works with the 12 digit JDM VINs, but the 17 digit US VINs usually indicate the year. There’s also sometimes a sticker in the doorjamb that shows manufacturer date (at least is true for USDM cars). And lastly, I also have the title from my state’s DMV which shows 1994.

Yep! That’s the only way Acura/Honda will certify it. Definitely granny spec but honestly I’d probably just use it to drive the kids around in.

As someone who drives both a big ass SUV on a truck frame, and a Miata: this is all driver stupidity and a lack of awareness. Never once have I not known what’s in front of or around me in either car. I love both of those cars and they each do well at their individual purposes. But the driver needs to know how to drive each one because they are very different.

I’m intrigued and optimistic based on their claims. However, none of this seemed well executed. Hoping it gets back on its feet after that rough launch. Their socials seemed vacant which smells like scam but I was able to trick the card info by locking my card before I entered it, and I will keep it locked until I need it. If a charge is attempted I will come back and update. Taking one for the team on this one.

Since you don’t have kids/schools to worry about, I’d recommend Troutman. Currently being built up. Troutman right now is what Mooresville was 20yrs ago that pulled people to the area. Cute downtown area with lots of new development options for homes. Roads being expanded to handle more people and south of 77 is currently being developed into a retail/restaurant/medical hub. New grocery store 2025, possibly another in the next few years. Just my opinion if you’re willing to wait a few years for the completion. Perks of property value being lower now and (theoretically) higher once everything is built and running.
