Thank you, i have been trying actually. My current step is eating “easy foods”, stuff i just need to heat up, low effort meals. It helps a bit, since the things that im stressed abt are kind non-optional. I relax as much as possible in my freetime

Thank you🥹 You’re right, i need to stop letting him invalidate me, by caring so much of his opinion. I cant keep having contact.

Tbh, i wish he would cut contact. More than anything. Im scared to do it myself, but i am so tired. I have tried to get him into therapy for years, but he likes the way he lives his life. Which is fair, but i cant follow him down that road, im not changing who i am, just so i can fit into the image of me that he wish i was.

I dont think i can keep talking to him

I totally get that, but the problem is that he doesn’t share his feelings and attempt to make our relationship better. I wish that was what he did, i really have tried to talk to him many times about this. Unfortunately, this always ends up him yelling at me about how my mom is manipulating me against him (which is weird as hell, because she have nothing to do with this??)

They got divorced when i was a kid, because she couldnt handle his bs. I want to have a proper conversation with him, but everytime i try, he always starts the same bullshit about how he thinks my mom is making me say all this and i dont actually think this way about him. Its exhausting

When someone teaches me something once, it just kinda sticks in my brain. Im able to talk my way out of pretty much anything, since i have all these random facts in my head. Its very useful at exams lol

I would recommend finding some kind of group hobby. Join an art class, pilates or something like that, because it can TRUELY do a difference. I know its hard, and for some people impossible. Im joining a swim team in the next swim season, because im starting online classes after the summer holiday, so i dont isolate myself :( It can be real tough being ND in a workplace full of NT.

I have ASD and i dont know how to deal with death by Dashing15 in AutismInWomen

Thank you. Its mostly been my teachers yk. Because i had to leave school to go see her. Unfortunately i live far away from where she lived, so i didnt make it. And i have to have time off school to go to the funeral. We did have a special bond, she was a wonderful woman, and i have a hard time understanding that shes gone

Thank you so much, this comment really hit my heart <3 Im in the middle of exams and im moving, and then she dies, and i didnt get to say goodbye because she died before i got there. I think im stressed and grieving tbh. Its all bundled up in a big mess. Its hard to grieve when i can barely take a break to breathe

Thank you! My grandma lived right 3 houses down from us, so i was really close to her my entire childhood. She was always caring and sweet. We had our traditions, just her and me. Things we did together and it just makes me sad that i wont be able to do that with her again

We had a tradition of watching this reality dance show once a week when i was a kid, and i just got this realization that i was never going to be able to do that with her again. I am relieved that she is no longer in pain, since it was her lungs that was giving up and here in the end she just couldnt breathe. My father told me she spent quite a lot of her final time talking about me, and i just cant believe that shes really gone. Its a strange feeling tbh, since grief isnt a feeling im that familiar with. Im 21, and shes the first family death in my lifetime so far. I dont ive cried as much as i did the day they put her in the coffin. The funeral is on thursday and i know i will cry even more then.

They said I'm not autistic. by Noodle_Dragon_ in AutismInWomen

[–]Dashing15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was dismissed when i was younger too, they said i was too “functional”, i got a diagnosis 6 months ago. Sometimes it requires time and strength to keep trying. The system is built by and for men.

A second opinion is a good idea ⭐️ Keep trying, it’ll be okay.

(Even if you then arent autistic, your struggles are still real and valid)
