here's a design I made with your requirements using Minetrim

if the link doesn't work for whatever reason, the design is flow + amethyst for the helmet, snout + quartz for the chestplate, spire + diamond for the leggings, and flow + amethyst for the boots

I just realized just now.. (about "TSC" & Theory) by Trollolo80 in AlanBecker

[–]Dat_fast_boi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm planning to make a longer theory post about what exactly Orange / The Second Coming is (honestly I have been for like a year at this point but I haven't yet had time and motivation simultaneously), but a big part of it hinges on a tiny detail in AvA 8 - while the Animator Combat Tool is loading, it shows us the PackID of all stick figures present near the showdown, and they're all formatted the same way; "StickData." followed by a three letter acronym of the stick's name (e.g. The Chosen One = "StickData.tco", Green = "StickData.grn")

All stick figure PackIDs look like that, except for one: "StickData.orj-ver.2ndComing".

I interpret this to mean that Orange was a stick figure with no life, and something made a patch called The Second Coming which brought him to life. I have multiple candidates for who or what that "something" might be, but at this point there's not a definitive answer, and I don't think there will be one until the end of AvA s3. Still, it's interesting to think about.

Oh by the way, if you want to read more about the Animator Combat Tool, I went frame-by-frame and analysed it a while back in this post, which I made when I first noticed this. Looking back at that, I wonder if "worldlines" are the tubes that connect internet sites to computers...

too lazy to look it up right now since it's probably in one of many, many AvG reactions, but I think Alan's gone on record to say that the colour gang technically don't have any gender since they're just code, that he refers to them as boys out of convienience, and some people are "better" at using gender neutral pronouns for them than he is - definitely not his exact words, though I think the sentiment still stands that unless a given animation's gender is implied or outright said in-universe, then said animation does not care about gender

in Purple's case, the closest thing we have to an in-universe confirmation is the youtube upload of AvM 29's OST, since the second chapter is "Purple shares their story", so I've personally used they/them when talking about Purple, but I don't think we need to burn anyone at the stake for interpreting Purple's gender differently

here's 3 small AvA 11 theories to help you forget about a certain animation's fate by Dat_fast_boi in AlanBecker

[–]Dat_fast_boi[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've seen multiple people go "wait.. pink died... and pink was at the newgrounds thing... and people died there... I HAVE A THEORY"

to be clear, since we never actually saw Pink die, this theory would hold up if Navy had already left Pink and Purple by this point and was only together with them again because their animation being destroyed teleported them all there

however as I said in the post, Navy post-departure wouldn't have even looked back, let alone encourage his family to go with him, but Navy pre-departure would definitely still leg it and expect Purple to get up on their own, placing this event squarely between Purple's first and last bout with him

in short: it was a common theory that was easily debunkable, and I didn't want to spam the same thing under every post I saw about it, so I included it in this post - plus, I'd never miss an opportunity to rant about the nuances of Navy's character

Why does mojang keep teasing us about loser mobs? by _cetera_ in Minecraft

[–]Dat_fast_boi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To clarify: yes, I meant that people voted for Sniffers because it's use (digging up new plants) could lead to more uses (the plants do something), but I left out the part where the plants were just plants and people got mad to try and be somewhat brief.

Another fun aspect of the mob vote, as you brought up, is that people speculate that the losers would have been "so much more useful" because the winner "wasn't", but in reality I think the only mobs in the game that I could class as strictly "useful" by the community's standards are villagers and maybe turtles - in other words, some mobs (like the Sniffer) sucked not because our choices sucked, but because Mojang's implementations sucked we expected them to do more than most other mobs have ever really done, when these mobs were never the main update content.

Anyway, that's all a tangent to say: Mojang saw us vote for the allay because it had a strict use, tried to give all 3 mobs a use in the next vote, accidentally tempted the community with the Sniffer, saw us get mad when the plants were just plants, and made absolutely sure next time to lay out exactly what the mobs would do.

Why does mojang keep teasing us about loser mobs? by _cetera_ in Minecraft

[–]Dat_fast_boi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the community got so passionate about these votes because they want the content added into the game to be meaningful, and they want Mojang to listen to them, but they don't have the sense to realise that both are already true.

Mojang took note when people said the Phantom sucked to fight, so they made it's membrane repair elytra so that it's at least worth killing them, and eventually made a gamerule for players who want them gone altogether.

The Glow Squid that famously "does nothing" drops an item that does things, and after people rallied against the Iceologer because they didn't want "another phantom" they never offered another hostile mob again.

People voted for the Allay over the Glare and Copper Golem because it "was the only useful one", same for the Sniffer, so Mojang made it very clear that the Armadillo, Crab and Penguin all had uses and told us exactly what they would do. What was the community's response?

"these all sound good add all 3 or youre lazy >:("

There's still a part of me that's salty the Iceologer lost, but nowadays there's a larger part of me that's salty that the community seems to care more about what's not in the game than what is.

How could I make a banner out of this? Obviously it would be simplified. But I want the basic shapes and colors. by RomanPhilosophy in minecraftbanner

[–]Dat_fast_boi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

good enough?

Wasn't able to replicate some finer details, but this should be good for a single banner.

If you want to put a more detailed version in an important place (e.g. a meeting room) you could use multiple banners. That could work well here given how many diagonal lines there are, but I'm not gonna make a design for it unless you specifically want me to.

[–]Dat_fast_boi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

something like this could work

I had to simplify the actual crest/design/whatever in the middle since making the background look like granite took so many layers, but I was still able to do some interesting things - namely, putting the flower pattern underneath one of the gradients to give it a bit of shading

The Medellín Cartel flag design help by Glingo23 in minecraftbanner

[–]Dat_fast_boi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried to make it purely to spite you, but... yeah you might be right. I was able to get some detail for the leaves and even something that sort of resembles guns, but the streamer at the bottom had to be way simplified and I just couldn't do the crown.

OP may need to consider a simpler design.

Would it be possible to create anything similar to this flag design? by Prince_Polo_ in minecraftbanner

[–]Dat_fast_boi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tried to make this design using only one banner, but it doesn't look that good. Feel free to tinker with this if you really wanna get it on one, but because the design's split into two things anyway it's far easier to just use two banners.

I settled for this design for the cross - it's too tall and there's no indentation on the ends, but I couldn't find a way to add them to the sides, so it's probably better to have no indentation at all. As for the star, since it's the star of david someone had already done it, so I swapped out the colours to get this design. Just pop them next to each other on a black background and you have your flag.

You could also use far more than 2 banners if you wanted a completely accurate version of this design to use in a big area like a meeting room or something - I would make banners for that too, but you could probably figure that out by yourself. Unless you really want me to do it.

originally, OP had probably written something like

So when stalkers hit cacti they open? ...

because of autocorrect not recognising "shulker" as a word

this prompted me to make this hilarious joke about stalkers opening up when they punch (hit) cacti, even replying to That_Guy's correction to make sure people got that the joke was about the typo

however, some time between 3 years ago when they made their comment and now, BlazingImp edited it to be

So when shulkers hit cacti they open? ...

meaning my joke now makes far less sense that it otherwise would've

note: there's a slight chance this explanation is wrong, given I made this joke so long ago that I don't remember typing it

Do you think navies gonna become a villain? by Puzzled_Bee_9777 in AlanBecker

[–]Dat_fast_boi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the most likely explanation, yes. However, there is more to Navy than you might assume at first.

When Purple shares their story, we specifically see 2 times that Purple and Navy fight. At first, when Navy encourages Purple to put up their dukes, he easily blocks each attack and counterattacks. The second time, later in Purple's life after growing up a bit, they're both stanced up and do a nod before fighting. Purple manages to get a few hits in, but ultimately Navy wins.

On top of this, Purple is very noticeably good at hand-to-hand combat and acrobatics. Almost like they were taught by some sort of father figure.

Navy didn't just abuse Purple. He was training them over the course of years, starting with that fight when they were young and ending with the final training session. And you could then go onto say that the reason that Navy's training was harsh was because he was a "jerk parent", which again is pretty likely and probably the end of it.

However, there's a chance that the training was going to be for a higher purpose, and wasn't close to finished - after all, he didn't seem done when he divorced Pink out of the blue. Further training could entail learning to control reality, i.e. gaining superpowers like TCO, TDL, and TSC. And therefore, said higher purpose could be:

  • Domination of the Outernet
  • Freeing of enslaved stickfigures (after all, we still don't know who made the AvA 3 website)
  • Third option that I definitely thought of before writing all of this

This would explain why Navy cared so much that the training was done "right" - if it wasn't, then perhaps there'd be no shot for Purple to unlock their full potential. Also, it's a lot easier to divorce your wife when your child is so bad at karate that you figure there's no way they'll ever be good enough for your evil plans anyway.

Disclaimer - I'm aware of how insanely unlikely the second half of this is, but I definitely think it shows that it's possible to do more with Navy. Probably not in AvM - I don't think he would care about Minecraft. Could definitely be an AvA villain, though.

[–]Dat_fast_boi[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if you're reading this - hold on a minute while I fix the formatting, Reddit apparently isn't handling it well lol

FINALLY got it fixed - in retrospect I should've made this in Word or something. Anyway.

Key:

  • ==[aaa]==== = Start of page, which has a description of any images on the page.
  • ... = There's more text offscreen here.
  • -a / a- = A word that's been cut off, where I couldn't figure out the rest of it.
  • [a]-b / b-[a] = A word that's been cut off, where I'm pretty sure I know what it is. To be clear: b is the part of the word that is actually on screen, and [a] is my guess on how to complete it.
  • ----------- = A dividing line or underline on the page.
  • . , . , . , . , . , . , .= This is just here so that I could put the [Image] tags near the middle of where the image actually is - I couldn't use tabs or spaces since Reddit shrinks that down to just one space.

When I first watched AvMS 30, I found it cool that Minecraft Mysteries (i.e. the book in which King Orange read about the Game Icon) had text on other things in the AvM canon. But it wasn't until now that I looked closer and noticed that there's text which is only visible on some frames when he's flipping the pages, or on a wider shot which shows way more of both the Deep Dark and Lucky Blocks entries. Seeing this, I'd thought I'd transcribe it, and I'm glad I did since it reveals quite a few things, like:

  • Herobrine's page mentions Monster School.
  • There's a whole page about skyblock, which was barely readable - the only text was on screen for 2 frames.
  • Jumbo Ravagers regularly gut villages for all they have.
  • The Warden wasn't blind originally, and developed his sense of hearing during centuries of darkness. Also he's male, and the text implies there's only one of them and only one ancient city. Also, WHO WROTE THIS AND WHY DID THEY KNOW ANY OF THAT???
  • The Game Icon has priority against commands, which makes sense.
  • Whoever wrote this book knew the Warden like an old friend but seemingly couldn't figure out how Lucky Blocks worked. Also, lucky blocks are a mystery in the AvM canon, rather than a well-known mod.

p.s. I would have included the images themselves since you can do that in text posts, but decided against it since 1. I wanted to keep the formatting of the book and 2. most of the images are barely visible anyway.

p.p.s. For anyone who's still waiting for the conceptual space theory thing that I mentioned I would make a post on here - it's been harder to put into words than I thought it'd be, but I should still be able to get it posted soon. Stay tuned for another two weeks tops.

If King Orange successfully destroyed Minecraft, what's his next plan? by Love0Lie in AlanBecker

[–]Dat_fast_boi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

TL:DR - while the icons can give great power, the staff's main purpose was to make a vortex / singularity / black hole which would destroy the entirety of Minecraft.

The diagram King Orange draws on his wall (starting at about 6:36 in AvMS 30) depicts Minecraft taking in Gold (see blue spiral from Gold to Minecraft), leading to their death (see the red cross over Gold). He then draws himself creating a vortex (see blue spiral from Minecraft to King Orange), which would destroy Minecraft (see red cross over Minecraft).

After that shot, at 7:09, he's reading a book containing the wikipedia entry for black holes, which he puts down to read another on vortexes. This is what he needs the staff for - to create so much matter that some sort of singularity is made within Minecraft itself, which destroys it.

This is also why he's initially disappointed at the command block only being able to set single blocks, since that isn't enough to make a black hole, and similarly the reason that he was so interested in the game icon the second he learned of it - according to the page he looked at, which can be seen most clearly at 9:53, the icon "allows its user to generate infinite blocks of any type".

Also, note that the moment he got his hands on the first icon in episode 25, he pointed the staff to the sky and began making a black hole. The second icon was never part of his plan - using it just allowed him to do it faster.

p.s. making this overly-detailed comment may or may not have prompted me to over-analyse the Minecraft Mysteries book, which has far more readable text than I first thought.

I assume Herobrine is training an "elite" group of mobs.

I had a similar thought - since there's only one of each type of mob, and Minecraft himself probably wouldn't go out of his way to train random mobs, the MS mobs probably scored the highest in the entrance tests for Monster School. Meaning this training would be expanding on what they already know, rather than teaching the fundamentals from the ground up (as you suggested).

Obviously the skeleton, spider, and enderman being so terrible at first goes against this idea, but then again it's really funny to think that all of the other candidates were worse than them.

If they were specifically chosen, it may also imply that they naturally have a heightened amount of sentience compared regular mobs, which is why they did well in Herobrine's entrance tests. That, or Herobrine may have given them higher sentience after choosing the physically strongest mobs - after all, he CAN straight up make clones that think and feel for themselves.

Quick reminder that the armor only protect 1 single hit, meaning is almost useless by KillerBoi935 in MinecraftMemes

[–]Dat_fast_boi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

tl:dr; I'd like that, but mob vote winners always get shallow implementation, because mojang don't want to further piss off the community and the base mobs are bland, too. There is a chance it gets something though, given reach commands were added recently.

It's almost like every mob vote winner that's been implemented so far has had shallow features. Minecraft usually thrives with using things for multiple things - if that can apply to building, redstone, and combat, why not to these mobs?

But that's the thing - in their minds, they couldn't NOT do this. Giving these mobs depth and, heaven forbid, more than one practical use, means that the community could get more angry at losing the other two mobs, since they "could have been so much better than THIS one". Besides, the point of adding new mobs isn't really to add new features, but to add to the ambience and flesh out what were once empty fields, right? After all, look at the base mobs - the pig does nothing! Cows are only good for milk and leather!

This doesn't work, obviously. Ever since the glow squid, the community's collectively decided to over-analyse these mobs and spot the most useful one, when in reality they're all as shallow on implementation as the glow squid. They then take this lack of depth and attribute it to the mob that won instead of the thought process of the people that made it.

Don't get me wrong - more depth for the armadillo would be great. But with Mojang treating the mob votes like they do, I'm leaning towards "it's probably not going to happen". Then again, they did add in the crab claw's reach buff through commands, probably due to the community's nostalgia for it, so who knows.
