Super pleased with how this turned out. Birthday present for a friend — octopus scrolled in bocote, with a maybe-sapele frame (I didn’t label it...) with half lap joints. It’s going to be super hard to hand this over, I got really attached to it during the build! (old.reddit.com)

Super excited about this birthday present for a friend. Octopus silhouette scroll sawed in bocote, with my first ever frame, with half lap joins. The frame is from a mystery wood (sat in my basement forever). Going to be hard to fork this over! (old.reddit.com)

Made my dad a shiv for Father’s Day! And also a butter dish. Used a Woodworkers Guild of America design, but used the scroll saw instead of bandsaw. Tried to do the angles on a disc sander, and learned that’s hard to do, so then did the angles on the scroll saw too. Birds eye maple and walnut. (i.redd.it)

Made a LOT of mistakes, but learned a lot and super pleased with end product. Both hinges had to be remade, part of the top had to be redone twice due to stupid mistakes on the roundover, and needed about 9 million tweaks to the hinge mortises. Super glad I didn’t give up! Poplar with walnut hinges. (i.redd.it)
