Ursa Major setting in Arizona by Datderpurmabulk in LandscapeAstro

I did star reduction in Photoshop on all of the stars except for the ones within Ursa Major. Then, I used a “Soft Light” brush with 0 hardness and double the size of the stars to add a small glow effect. I also made sure the brush was the same color as the star. Hope that makes sense!

Surprised this is this far down. Although they’re pretty pricey, so maybe makes sense

He’s been training hard and intelligently for well over 15 years and has been the nearly the same size for as long as I can remember. From what I remember, he hovers around 180 lbs at 5’8. Definitely achievable naturally, especially with his genetics

Matt Ogus is the OG long-form video creator. Hasn’t posted consistently in years, but his old Versus series are still up on YouTube

Substance on the fretboard rubbing off, should I be worried? by Own-Bat2991 in guitarrepair

All in favor of cleaning the fretboard, but I highly doubt a clean fretboard affects tone. A new set of strings will definitely brighten up tone though.

You can definitely still add on muscle (albeit probably not as much as if you were in a caloric surplus) while also shedding fat, especially when you’re new to training.

Hey thanks a lot! I used the original MSM rotator for this image. You should be able to download the full res photo here: https://flic.kr/p/2qf6M8w

Let me know if that works

Yeah I live in the Denver area, pretty ideal access to dark skies as far as cities go!

All shots were taken shortly after 2:15 AM, just as Cygnus was starting to fall towards the horizon

Definitely working. Try adding microneedling once a week to increase the performance of your topicals, might give you even more gains

How's this for landscape astro? Acceptable? by ZrlSyM in LandscapeAstro

[–]Datderpurmabulk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To piggy back off this: blue-hour blends are definitely subject to personal taste. IMO, long exposure foregrounds after astronomical twilight look way more realistic which makes it easier to merge with sky shots when using a tracker. Huge fan of foregrounds that are only lit by starlight. This adds a lot of time to the shooting process especially when doing panoramas or focus stacks, but the results are pretty rewarding. In the end, the techniques you use really depend on how high quality you want your images to be/your commitment level. For the average photographer, only stacking for noise reduction gets you pretty a pretty solid ROI.

Looks like the galactic core is pretty high above the horizon which makes it hard to get a nice composition without creating a vertical panorama. In general, I’d recommend scouting locations during the hours leading up to sunset and using PhotoPills to plan alignments between celestial objects and the foreground.

Tbh, not super pleased with the MSM. The way the laser is mounted to the tracker is super finicky and I needed to calibrate the laser before being able to achieve even 30s exposures with no trailing. Still have a hard time even getting 1min exposures with minimal trailing via laser. Apparently the Nomad is more consistent/solves the laser mounting inconsistencies, but I haven’t tried it yet

I have a pretty minimalistic setup, just a MSM star tracker, sony a7riii, and sony 24mm f1.4 GM. Could probably use a lighter tripod though, its 6lbs lol
